Gothic Clothing: How to Build a Goth Wardrobe
I wanted to share my shopping secrets with you on how to build a goth wardrobe. I talk about where I shop for gothic clothing basics, where to buy branded gothic items, and where to find accessories. I even discuss a bit about DIY.
I filmed this video the day that I found out my grandma had a stroke and we didn’t know how bad it was, so I was rattled and upset.

DIY Goth
One thing that I do (that I forgot to really expand on in the video) is DIY gothic clothing, jewelry and other accessories. Either I make my own item or I buy an existing item and then add gothic touches to it. For the bracelet above, I loved the burgundy beads but it had a flower charm. So I switched it out for a bat charm. I’m stocked with bats and moons in my bead crafting kit.

Gothic Clothing: How to Build a Goth Wardrobe Video
In my Gothic Clothing: How to Build a Goth Wardrobe video I talk about where I shop for basics and where to go for branded goth clothing. It’s so important to keep an open mind with shopping goth! You can find something to help you build your gothic clothing wardrobe almost anywhere you go.
One of my tricks for successful online shopping for anything, whether it’s gothic clothing, makeup, shoes, or household items, is to read 4 star reviews. 4 Star reviews tend to be the most balanced because they usually say both positive and negative things about an item. They’re the most compelling and helpful to me.
Now, I’m considered plus size but I can often shop at ‘straight sized’ stores because I’m on the cusp of plus size since I wear size 10 & 12. I find that really helpful because sometimes I buy a women’s junior XL and other times I buy a plus size XS. My friend Dawn just started a new blog and has written a post specifically on Goth Plus Size Buying Guide. She’s a US size 22, so I KNOW her posts will be helpful to some of you. Plus she’s a real sweetheart. You can also follow her on Instagram!
