I love black velvet and this 90s black velvet dress is similar to what I wore in the 90s. I found this specific black velvet dress on the Kohls website, but it’s no longer available, so I’ve found some similar options for you. I love how Phaedra joined in for this photo. The dress I own is by Petite Chaps, size Medium. I told you I’m a weird size in clothes. Sometimes I’m a medium, sometimes a large, sometimes size 10 or 12 petites, and on rare occasion Plus Size OX.
If you live somewhere where you experience real Fall (unlike Florida where it’s still in the 90s), you could absolutely pair this dress with some deep burgundy tights. It would also look cute with Dr Martens if you like those better than Mary Jane Heels.
I think with a neckline like this, the dress needs a big statement necklace. I have a unique Bunny Paige necklace that’s perfect for this sort of outfit.

I absolutely adore velvet! One of my earliest life recollections was when I was about 2 years and I had a navy velvet dress with lace. My mother couldn’t get me out of it and I remember how swish it use to make me feel. Velvet is definitely a swish fabric!
