Emily the Strange Cat Palette Review and Swatches Video

Watch the video on YouTube for Closed Captioning!

The video shows the palettes in detail! Each palette has a slightly different design, and inside the lid it gives you a bio about the cats. I adore this palette design, as it is unique! Unique palettes are one of the reasons I love indie makeup brands.

About Vampyre Cosmetics

Vampyre Cosmetics is 100% cruelty-free, 100% vegan, and 100% talc-free. They are a woman-owned, disabled-owned, queer owned, neurodivergent owned indie makeup brand founded in 2011.

About Emily the Strange

This is an officially licensed Emily the Strange collection. Emily the Strange and her clowder of cats are very nostalgic for me because I remember them in Hot Topic and I think there was a comic book for her! Apparently there are a few novels that have been published on her and there were even a few video games!

What is a Clowder?

A clowder of cats is a group of cats. Much like how you say a murder of crows, a pack of dogs, a herd of horses, you say a clowder of cats. This applies to three or more cats.

Emily the Strange Cat Palette Collection

Goth Indie Makeup

The Strange Cat palette collection does not have official shade descriptions, so I wrote my own, which will be helpful. I took swatch photos outdoors in direct sunlight. My skin tone is a very fair neutral to cool muted yellow. See how these very fair foundations look on my skin tone.

Cat Palettes Packaging

Cat Head Palette Packaging

I love the adorable lightweight cardboard packaging of each cat that in the collection. There’s no mirror, which is fine by me. Instead it tells you in detail about each cat. These lids are magnetized. The back of the palette tells you about Vampyre Cosmetics and what they stand for, as well as the eyeshadow ingredients.

Cat Palettes Value

The Emily the Strange Cat palette collection are $20 each for 6 colors. What I love about these palettes is that they’re nearly all matte! They’re matte or subtle satin finish. For 3 pans, you’re paying about $3.33 per eyeshadow, which is a great price for this excellent matte formula.

Cat Palettes Formula

I love the vivid hues in the Emily the Strange Cat Palette collection. The Vampyre Cosmetics eyeshadow formula doesn’t sacrifice blendability for pigmentation and it’s very easy to work with. It’s an excellent matte and satin formula.

As someone with hooded eyes that are only getting more hooded each year, I really appreciate a comfortable matte formula.
