Happy Holiday! Today I’m sharing some blue winter makeup inspiration with you. I recently did several blue makeup looks and thought you might especially be interested in a few of them. Everything is cruelty-free, most products are vegan. Photos were taken on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Winter Solstice Ceremony Look

I wore Frost themed blue winter makeup to the Winter Solstice Ceremony that Dave and I attended at the Lotus Pond with many of our friends and community. I’m sad I didn’t have time to take photos of my Winter Solstice Ceremony makeup look on my DSLR camera. Even with a nice iPhone, it still doesn’t take crisp close up makeup photos with the forward facing camera.
I did end up changing my lip a tiny bit for this. I ended up fading the lip pencil at the center to make it much lighter and then reapplied the gloss. You can see the change in the video on IG.
I consider this a soft blue and purple winter eye makeup look.

Best of 2024 Makeup
Here are some of my picks for the best of 2024 Makeup.
Buxom Power Line Lip Liners
The Buxom Power Line Lip Liners are my favorite lip pencil formula and have been for the past several years. The shade range is very limited, unfortunately, and could certainly use more cool tones. Hush Hush Henna (pinky-brown that is neutral-warm on me), Magnetic Mauve (a my lips but better color, a cool toned pink mauve lilac), Powerful Plum (vampy plum), and Recharged Ruby (cool toned red) are my most used shades. I turn to Nyx and Half-Magic Beauty for the other colors I need in my lip pencils arsenal, such as blue, purple, and black. Does the liner plump my lips? Not that I can tell, but the formula stays put for me and gives me nice, crisp lip lines. I also appreciate the blending brush on the other side of the pencil for when I’m attempting an ombre.
LYS Triple Fix Blurring and Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation Stick
I’m so grateful to the people who recommended the LYS Triple Fix Blurring and Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation Stick to me! I love stick foundations and I prefer them for daily wear because sticks are fast to apply, much like a pressed powder foundation is for me. There’s been a hole in my makeup collection ever since Milk Makeup Flex Stick was discontinued. I searched for replacements but nothing worked well for me until LYS. What amazes me is that it works best with no primer underneath! So that’s a step I can skip with LYS. Love this!
The Best Way to Apply Stick Foundation
I’ve found the best way to apply stick foundation for me is not to drag the stick on my face. Instead, I run a brush across the stick, then buff the product into my skin. I use far less product than if I had directly applied the stick to my skin. I use the Anisa Pinnacle Foundation Brush (I won this in a giveaway and would absolutely repurchase) to apply LYS, as well as most of my foundations these days. KVD Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush #40 is what I use around my brows and eyes to blend out my foundation.
What About Under Eyes?
I’m 46 years old, so the skin under my eyes is delicate and prone to creasing or caking if I don’t delicately apply the thinnest layers of product in that area. I find that the LYS Triple Fix Blurring and Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation Stick works best if I don’t apply it there. Instead, I apply Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener under my eyes to minimize creasing. The Eye Brightener blends into the Stick foundation with no issues.
One/Size Attention Seeker 3D Blush Trio
The best blush formula that I’ve found all year is the One/Size 3D Blush Trio in Attention Seeker. The cream formula melts into my skin to give me a beautiful, cool toned pink blush. The coordinating powder is great for setting the cream. Attention Seeker blush has gotten me more compliments and questions about what blush I’m wearing than anything else this year. Unfortunately, the entire line leans very warm, so I don’t foresee myself picking up any other shades.
The best thing about the One/Size 3D Blush Trio is that it actually has a clear lid to prevent any powder from mixing into the cream section. Normally I don’t buy a mix of cream and powder unless the palette offers that feature.
One/Size On Til’ Dawn Setting Spray
My pick for the best setting spray of the year is the One/Size On Til’ Dawn Setting Spray. It works in hot, humid Florida and keeps my makeup in place through yoga. It does make me feel like I’m spraying a can of hairspray on my face. My tip is to take a deep breath and then hold it before you spray your face. After you spray your face, use a small fan to help it dry down quickly.
While I do still use Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, it’s only with my eyeshadows to help intensify color. It doesn’t irritate my eyes, so it’s perfect for me to use to foil eyeshadows, or create liner with an eyeshadow.
VE Cosmetics Innocent Lip Gloss
The VE Cosmetics Innocent Lip Gloss (received in PR) is my favorite gloss shade and formula of the year, followed closely by Half-Magic Beauty Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss. Innocent wins because it’s an enchanting multichrome gloss that shifts shades of pink, lilac, blue, turquoise, and purple. It looks amazing on top of every color. It’s non sticky, very pigmented, and very long wearing for a gloss.
Half-Magic Beauty Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss
The Half-Magic Beauty Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss is a very close second to VE Cosmetics in formula. It’s a very smooth formula with multidimensional sparkle that is not sticky or tacky. It doesn’t migrate around my face onto my teeth or chin. I wear Y2k Cherub (cool pink with multidimensional sparkle), Frosty B*tch (neutral icy peach with multi-colored reflects), and Problem Child (sheer black with multi-colored sparkle). However, it’s a very limited shade range and I would like to see them add a cool-toned red.
Y2k Cherub is great for cool-toned makeup looks. I like Frosty B*tch for neutral to warm leaning looks. Problem Child is perfect for when I want to wear black.
Black Moon Cat’s Meow Palette
I was sent the Black Moon Cat’s Meow Palette in PR, however I would have purchased this for myself. I did purchase the palette to gift to a friend of mine. You can see my live brush swatches here. It’s an awesome, unique, cool-toned leaning palette. If you like Black Moon’s matte eyeshadow formula and cool tones, you’ll enjoy the Cat’s Meow palette.

2024 has been the most challenging year of my life and I’m grateful to be closing the chapter on it. I’m ready to see what 2025 will bring.
Dave and I had a very low key holiday season. We’ve focused on spending quality time with our chosen family, friends, and yoga community. Quality time with loved ones is what it’s all about for me. How about for you?
