Purple Winter Holiday Nails
Hello, beautiful creatures! I created Purple Winter Holiday Nails to share with you. I detail how I made each nail in this set and why. I hope you find this manicure inspiration helpful!
Everything purchased by me because I love indie makeup and nails!
Purple Winter Holiday Nails
I used the Painted Desert Medium Stiletto tips to make my Purple Winter Holiday Nails. I cut off around 1/4 of an inch off the end to make the length more comfortable in the gym. I use The Painted Desert Cactus Gelly Plus for my builder gel and iGel No Cleanse Top Coat for the nails I applied a top coat to.
Snowflake Gradient Glitter Index Finger
I used the encapsulation method on my index fingernail and put two snowflake glitters, plus a mix of Daily Charme Mystic Amethyst and Daily Charme Dreamy glitter, onto the nail before I put the full coverage tip on. After applying the full coverage tip, I painted a bit of Daily Charme Spellbound gel at the bottom of the nail. Then I used a bit of Daily Charme 5-in-1 Strengthening gel at the bottom half of the nail and dragged the gel up and down the nail to help create a gradient. I used a tiny spoon to pour the Daily Charme Mystic Amethyst and Daily Charme Dreamy glitter mix onto the nail and then cured it.
This finger reminds me a little of when you see the sunlight sparkling on the snow and ice outdoors during the Midwest Winter out in the country. It’s the first time I’ve done encapsulation well, so I’m really pleased with it!
Sugar Glitter Middle Finger
I painted a thin layer of Daily Charme Grapetini gel polish on the nail and cured it. Then I applied a layer of Daily Charme 5-in-1 Strengthening gel and poured my Charme Mystic Amethyst and Daily Charme Dreamy glitter mix all over the nail. I put a cupcake liner beneath my nail to catch the excess glitter, and I scooped up the glitter with the tiny spoon from the cupcake liner and poured it onto the fingernail. Once the nail was glitter coated, I cured it and repeated this step to ensure I had maximum sugar glitter sparkle.
Iridescent Bauble Ring Finger
I wanted to create something that reminded me of iridescent ornaments you’d use to decorate the tree. After applying Daily Charme Grapetini gel, I used these iridescent ab purple pearls of varying sizes and attached them with iGel Jewelry Charm gel. You don’t want to apply a top coat to pearls or gems, so using a powerful adhesive gel to hold things firmly in place is essential.
Purple Unichrome Pinky Finger
I painted two thin coats of Daily Charme Grapetini gel polish on my pinky nail. Then I used the Daily Charme Chrome Gel. After curing that, I used a soft makeup sponge to rub Daily Charme Unicorn Unichrome powder on the nail. Unichrome powder is stunning on every color!
Midnight Purple Thumb
I painted two thin coats of Daily Charme Grapetini on my thumb. Then I applied a thin layer of Daily Charme Spellbound gel. This nail reminds me of the midnight sky filled with stars; only it’s midnight purple instead of midnight blue.
Final Thoughts
I love doing my nails at home! I had so much fun creating these Purple Winter Holiday Nails. I’ve got an excellent application method that works well for me, and I found a painless and easy removal process.
One of the things that I love the most about working with gel polish is that it cures in 30 to 60 seconds. So I can immediately go in between the art I’m making on each nail, unlike how I would with regular polish.
