Cool Toned Brow Products
Hello, beautiful creatures; today I’m sharing my cool toned brow products collection with you. Last year I decluttered most of my brow collection, so I don’t own a ton of products to feature. Cool toned brow products are often hard to find, especially at affordable pricing!
About My Skin Tone
I have a very fair neutral to muted cool yellow skin tone. When exposed to the sun I turn olive. I match to Nyx Born To Glow Radiant Foundation in Pale, Nyx Bare With Me Blur Skin Tint Foundation in Pale, Nyx Bare With Me Hydrating Face & Body Concealer Serum in Fair, Smashbox Studio Skin 24 Hour Oil-Free Hydra Foundation in 0.1, Flower Light Illusion Liquid Foundation in Shell, and Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder in Shade 01. Check out my foundation swatches and my fair skin contouring products swatches.
Brow Product Issues
My muted yellow tones definitely impact eyebrow products and often make them pull very warm. I’ve had products turn green and orange on me, which don’t look flattering.

Cool Toned Brow Gels
There are two cool-toned brow gels that I recommend. One is the Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill Eyebrow Gel in Black, which is cool toned. The other one is the Nyx Brow Glue Clear Laminating Gel. Most brow gels I’ve tried run really warm. I used to use the Lime Crime Bushy Brow Gel in Smokey, which pulled really warm on me.
Brow Wax
My current favorite way to do my brows is to use a brow wax!
- Brush my brows up with a spoolie
- Use the Sigma Prime and Control Brow Wax on my brows and brush upwards with a spoolie
- Fill in my tail, create an arch and sketch out the top and bottom of my brows, create little upward strokes at the inner part of my brows, and then blend with a spoolie
- Set my brows with one of my About Face Glitter Brow Gels. I have all 4 and I love them! Interlude (white multi-sparkle), Eclipsed (magenta multi-sparkle), Envy Baby (mermaid green multi-sparkle), and Gold Dusk Woman (gold multi-sparkle).
My Natural Brows
Above are my brushed natural brows. My brows are cool toned and very sparse, especially at the outer half of my brow.
Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill Eyebrow Gel
One product I no longer own but have repurchased 3 times is the Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill Eyebrow Gel in Black. It’s a very dark tinted cool toned brow gel.
Haus Labs the Edge Precision Brow Pencils in Granite Gray and Black
For the look above I used the Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Granite Gray for the inner 1/2 of my brows and the Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Noir for the outer half.
While I love the Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil colors, I don’t like that for both of my pencils, the lead popped out. I also had an issue with the Noir pencil where it was slightly crumbly when I used it.
Nyx Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen
I used the Nyx Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen in Gray-Black, along with Lime Crime Bushy Brow Pomade Pencil in Sleek Black for my brows above.
Lime Crime Bushy Brow Pen
I used the Lime Crime Bushy Brow Pen in Smokey with a little bit of Lime Crime Bushy Brow Pomade Pencil in Sleek Black for these brows. Lately, I’ve really felt like Smokey has a green undertone when worn and Sleek Black likes to pull brownish when worn.
Nyx Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen
For my eyebrows above I used the Nyx Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen in Black for the outer half of the brows and the Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Granite Gray for the inner half. I like my eyebrow tail to be darker than the inner brow to add more dimension to my eyes.
Urban Decay Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain
I haven’t worn the Urban Decay Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain in Blackout in a long while. It’s definitely on the warmer side for me but can look great. I recently repurchased it when I repurchased some other Urban Decay staples of mine. For the look above I used only the pencil side.
Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in Grey
I’m wearing the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in Grey in the photos above. It’s the best match I’ve ever found for my natural brow color. It’s the best cool toned eyebrow pencil I’ve ever found at the drugstore. What I love about it, in addition to the color match and the fact that it’s cruelty-free, is that it wears well all day for me. What I don’t love about it is that it seems a little fragile or crumbly. When I did the swatch photos above, I don’t know if I pressed slightly too hard or what, but it had a bit of the tip crumble off. Since brow products are so tiny, I don’t like it when this happens.
Final Thoughts
The cool toned brow products that I have repurchased or would repurchase are:
- Lime Crime Bushy Brow Pomade Pencil in Sleek Black
- Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in Grey
- Nyx Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen in Gray-Black
- Urban Decay Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil & Ink Stain in Blackout
I’m grateful to have affordable brow options from the drugstore thanks to Nyx. Lime Crime, which I suppose is more of a niche brand these days, lowered their prices when so many other brands are raising them. This makes Lime Crime a more affordable brand to me as well.
Out of all the products featured here, the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in Grey is my favorite. I think it looks great by itself or when used with another product to add more depth to the tail of my brow.
What’s your favorite brow product? Any cool-toned greys out there in an amazing formula that I need to try? Let me know!
