Quick and Easy Way to Get Wavy Hair

Today I’m sharing my quick and easy way to get wavy hair. I love wavy hair, whether it’s beachy waves, second-day braid waves, or vintage waves. There are all kinds of ways to get waves in your hair these days. Sometimes I’ll braid it and wait overnight for it to be wavy, but usually I’m too impatient for that! (See 4 ways to get wavy hair) Lately I’ve been using my Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver.

Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver

Bed Head Makin' Waves S Waver

This is my Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver. It has tourmaline ceramic plates to give you soft, shiny hair with style and no frizz.

Bed Head Makin' Waves S Waver

The Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver has S-shaped plates to give you soft, vintage waves. You can see that it kind of looks like it has 2 curling irons stuck together to create the S-shaped plates. The way you use this hair waver is by starting towards the top of the hair and crimping a section (I usually do it for about 12 seconds), then lining the plates up to do the next section of hair, and continue until you’re at the bottom of your section of hair. For hair my length, it normally needs 3 crimps per section of hair.

Paul Mitchell Neuro Style Heat Protectant and Hair Spray

It takes me less than 20 minutes to do my entire head of hair. And of course I use heat protectant! I use the Paul Mitchell Neuro Style Protect (all over) before I use the Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver on my hair. After I’ve used the waver and the waves have fully cooled, I use my fingers or a wide tooth comb to loosen the waves. Then I spray Paul Mitchell Neuro Style Finish hairspray all over.

Bed Head Makin' Waves S Waver Lock

The Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver has a lock feature, though I’m not entirely sure as to why.

Bed Head Makin' Waves S Waver Temperature Controls

The Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver has a basic on off switch and temperature controls. One thing I would really like to see improved on these devices is the temperature control. It goes ‘up to 400’ degrees, but you have no way of knowing what the lowest heat setting is or anything in between.

Vintage Waves

Vintage Waves

Here are the results of me using the Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver. I love it when my hair is wavy like this because it makes my color look amazing. These vintage waves are beautiful!

I’v used the Bed Head Deep Waver for years to add body to my hair, but I’m glad to have the option of the Bed Head Makin’ Waves S Waver for softer waves.

  1. I’ve always wanted to get a waver, specifically this one from bed head! You’ve reminded me of that wish…maybe now I actually will! ?

  2. I love your hair like this; it looks so good! I haven’t used a waver in such a long time, now I want to pull mine out & use it again.

  3. In old times it was never as easy as this “QUICK AND EASY WAY TO GET WAVY HAIR”.
love this post, it’s just too good.

  4. I think the vintage waves suit your style and your hair color really well! I have naturally wavy hair but it tends to get messy and tangled quite easily.

  5. You look beautiful in the long waves. I have a waver from them, not this one, but I always use it when I go natural to kind of tame the curls a little and give them a better look.

  6. I love your waves! I usually just go to bed with damp hair and wake up with slightly curled/wavy hair and add product to tame any frizz.

  7. I should have this done when I go get color one day so I could see if I felt comfortable wearing waves. It’s stunning on you and makes your hair look fuller.

  8. I love the way that your hair look when it’s wavy! Well, I always love the way that your hair looks, actually! Great look for you, Courtney!
