My Blepharoplasty Eye Surgery
Hello, Hex Squad! Today I’m sharing my blepharoplasty eye surgery story with you. All of my life, until December 2023, I had hooded eyes. After my eye surgery, I now have deepset eyes.
Just a quick note before we jump in, I’m not a medical professional, this is not medical advice, and I’m not advocating that anyone or everyone with hooded eyes needs eye surgery. Surgery is a very personal decision that should not done on a whim. I’m sharing my personal experience.

Pink Eyeshadow Colorstory
Here are swatches of the eyeshadows used to create my look in my blepharoplasty eye surgery story video.
After applying my Melt Vanilla Melt-it Liquid Eyeshadow and Base (which definitely changed the color of my Blend Bunny pinks), I used the It Brushes for Ulta #125 Airbrush Smokey Liner Brush to first apply X Marks the Spot, then brightened and blended upwards with Booty. I stamped Intuition on the outer lower lid area with a flat liner brush. I applied Thetis to the lid and lower lid with a lid brush, blending it with Intuition.
My Post Surgery Eyes
Lazy Brows vs. Structured Brows
When I’m in a hurry or feeling lazy with my brows, what I love to do now is use the Nyx Black Thick it Stick it! Thickening Brow Gel, as it darkens my eyebrows and makes them match the black in my hair more closely with minimal effort. No more dyeing my brows.
When I’m taking my time, I prefer to draw on my tail with Nyx Black Powder Louder Volumizing Brow Pencil and carefully fill in the front of my brows with Nyx Grey Micro Brow Pencil. Then I’ll finish with Nyx Black Thick it Stick it! Thickening Brow Gel to give some volume and hold.
Drugstore Foundation Grumblings
I swear, no cruelty-free brand at the drugstore formulates their foundations for my dry skin. I hoped to love the elf Soft Glam Satin Foundation but every time I’ve tried it so far it looks awful on my skin. I’ve tried it with the Wet n’ Wild Impossible Primer and it made my skin look like it was peeling off in strips. I tried it for this look with elf Power Grip Primer and it looked a little better, but still looked patchy and like I wasn’t taking care of my skin.
Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer with Fermented Arnica
My skin is acting bougie. It behaves beautifully with Haus Labs 02 Fair Golden Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer with Fermented Arnica. I love to use the Haus Labs concealer to spot conceal around my face. I’ve actually got two blemishes right now, probably from stress, and this concealer covers the redness with ease while blending into the rest of my skin effortlessly.
I’ve been experimenting using this concealer in conjunction with the new Charlotte Tilbury 1 Fair Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick on the high points of my face and then lightly blurring my skin with Tarte 12N Fair Neutral Amazonian Clay Blurring Powder Foundation.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blurring Powder Foundation
My dry skin lost the ability to tolerate powder foundations on their own years ago. However, I recently tried the Tarte 12N Fair Neutral Amazonian Clay Blurring Powder Foundation by itself for a quick look, using it with a soft brush to even out my skintone. I was impressed by how beautiful it looks on its own. It didn’t emphasize any dryness and it blurs my skin beautifully. I have to admit I love the Amazonian Clay Blurring Powder Foundation and can see myself repurchasing it after I run out.
Do you use this foundation? What is your favorite blurring complexion product?

Devinah Pressed Eyeshadows
Devinah pressed eyeshadows are gorgeous. Thetis is a beautiful multichrome that shifts purple, yellow, green, and gold. It’s even more stunning in person than in photos, photos don’t do the color justice. If you’re looking for pressed multichromes, duochromes, and mattes, I highly recommend Devinah.
I’ve purchased quite a collection of their eyeshadows including: Thetis, Moonlit, Luna Storm, Skyla, Salvatore, Fae, Mystic Moonpie, Rain Tarts, Fairy Fire, Starfire, Scylla, Centaurus, Esmaray, Frozen Waves, Ravens Frost, Tessa, Elysium, Gloom, Midnight, Zane, Virago, Patrina, Aria, Esme, Ethereal, Jox, Pandora, Suki, Darena, Crixus, Jaded, Elphaba, Patina, and Karma.

Final Thoughts
I’ve struggled with dysmorphia this year after my surgeries, which is one of the many reasons I say that no one should make the decision to have surgery lightly and without deliberate thought to how it will impact you. I’m doing better now, but it definitely took me time to accept and love my new eyes, even though my eye surgery is one I wanted for years.
I hope you found my blepharoplasty eye surgery story video helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
