Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette
Hey friends, it’s great to see you! Today I wanted to talk about the Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette. I had high hopes for this palette when I bought it because it claimed to be the ultimate cool-toned eyeshadow palette. Unfortunately, it deeply disappointed me.

Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette
I like the slim packaging on the Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette, which promises mauve-purple tones. Some people will feel like the packaging is a bit cheap and plastic-looking, but I appreciate slim packaging that isn’t bulky, especially with something I’d want for travel.

The above Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette swatch photo was taken in my lightbox. You can see how warm and brown the colors pull on my skin tone.
These Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette swatches on fair skin were taken outside in my backyard in the afternoon.

- Rose Tone (matte dusty rose)
- Mauve Vignette (matte warm blush)
- Plum Hue (matte deep plum)

Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette Review
First, the Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette is not a 100% cool-toned eyeshadow palette. So it can’t be my ‘ultimate’ cool-toned eyeshadow palette. That was my first big disappointment.
Second, with my undertones (neutral to cool yellow olive), the Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette pulls very warm and orangey on me. I’m not fond of that at all. I only liked two of the five colors in this palette (the top two on the left). Amplified is too brown for my taste.
Third, and you know this is coming, I’m not too fond of palettes that don’t list the color names under the eyeshadow pan, and I hate it when brands are too lazy to print the names beneath the pan.
So while there are better cool-toned eyeshadow palettes than this one, let me tell you who I think this palette is for. This palette is for people with pink undertones to their skin and green eyes, and these colors will make your eyes pop if they are green or even blue-green like mine.
The eyeshadow formula itself was acceptable. It’s a buildable formula that’s easy to blend out. It’s just a shame the colors aren’t what the company promised. Especially for the $45 price tag for just five shades, I expected perfection with the eyeshadow shades.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, I returned the Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette. I couldn’t justify keeping a palette that I hated 3 out of 5 colors. While I love tightly edited, smaller palettes, all the colors must be correct. And this one isn’t right for me.
What do you think of the Elcie Cosmetics Minimalist Mauves Eyeshadow Palette? Is it a winner for you?
That’s my kind of palette! I love neutrals :))
Is it bad that I now want to pick this up just because of your paw print swatches?!
I tend to lean towards more natural shades so this palette is perfect for me!!! The price does seem a little high though for such a basic shade palette. And I agree, why can’t they put names under the colors!
I like the colors, good everyday, but for being claimed as a cool toned palette, I wouldn’t agree, def more warm!
I’m not feeling the tones in the palette, it’s way more warm toned than they claimed.
Those shades are awfully warm for “mauves”. Your paw print swatches are sooo cute, tho.
Not a winner and not even close to being cool toned. These all look warm to me. I think it’s way too expensive too. What a shame.
Most of the colors do look warm instead of how the company described. They are pretty, but would not work for me. I need all cool tones.
Wow that is definitely warm – I don’t get it!
A shame it was a disappointment. I think the colors are very pretty but not as you had expected. That would annoy me too.
Wow. I almost bought this palette. Thanks so much for your review. Like you, this would have gone straight back to the store – not cool (in many senses of the word).
This palette is so pretty!!!
