MAC and Urban Decay Dupes from Silk Naturals

MAC and Urban Decay Dupes from Silk Naturals

I have a lot of MAC dupes from Silk Naturals, but I don’t have all the MAC originals. So I went to look for the famous brand colors I have, along with their mineral makeup counterpart, and swatched them. I swatched these all on the Detrivore primer. I don’t normally use this primer for swatching.

MAC and Urban Decay Dupes from Silk Naturals

Famous Brands vs. Mineral Makeup
MAC Juxt vs. Silk Naturals Charmed
MAC Vex vs. Silk Naturals Nymph
Urban Decay Asphyxia vs. Evil Shades Suffocation

When I’ve used Vex and Nymph, they both look identical to me on my eyes in looks. In the swatches, Vex seems slightly deeper.

When I’ve used Juxt and Charmed, they look very very close, but slightly different. Juxt is more of a deeper duotone green and gold, where Charmed is slightly lighter and sparklier.

When I’ve used UD Asphyxia, I’ve been frustrated by the lack of color payoff, even on a good primer. When I’ve used Evil Shades Suffocation, I’ve been very happy at the color payoff. Suffocation looks slightly deeper in the swatches, and the blue reflect shows up better.

Overall, I’ve been very happy with my famous brand color clones from mineral makeup companies. Sometimes they even have better color payoff.

Have you tried any mineral makeup clones? What did you think of these MAC and Urban Decay Dupes from Silk Naturals

  1. Hi SilhouetteScreams,
Yes, I have Poly, Papyrus, Rebel, Slick, Cruise, Nekkid, Meteor, Boom, Lurid, Idolize, Nymph, Charmed, Sonic, Purr, Lunar, Retro, Brimstone, Hint, from the clone colors. I just don't have all the MAC counterparts to swatch.

I really love Poly, Nekkid, Meteor, Idolize, Brimstone, Retro, Lunar, Nymph, Charmed, Sonic and Hint.

Sonic and Hint are 2 of my favorite highlighters right now.

  2. Im not sure how they compare to their MAC counterparts, but I love my SN Shroom, Ricepaper, Vanilla pigment and Satin Taupe clones 🙂 such amazing colour payoff, so shimmery, and they feel really soft.

  3. Hi Lindsey,
Suffocation is better than the original in my opinion because it has better color payoff.
Vex is identical when worn, at least to my eyes.
Charmed is lighter, but still pretty nice 🙂
I'm glad you own it and like it!

    Hi Apriltini,
There are a lot of good blush dupes/clones/covers for Nars Orgasm, too 🙂
    Carefree sounds pretty!

  4. Sassy Minerals has a dupe of BE's Heaven blush called Carefree. I've swatched both, and Carefree is a slight bit pinker, but they're so close that it's difficult to tell them apart. Sassy did an excellent job. 🙂

  5. Oooh, from your hand swatches, it looks as though suffocation is the closest dupe (which I find awesome, since it's also the only one of those I own, and a lovely color to boot).
