Rocker Chick is a deep warm purple with a matte finish.

Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes Packaging
I like the Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes packaging a lot! It’s small, compact, and easy to use. The doe foot is extremely easy to glide over the lips to apply the color. You may not need a lip pencil, though I still prefer them.
Plush Lip Mattes Value
Actually, the one thing that really surprised me about the Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes is the size of these products. You’re only getting .06 oz of product per color for $12. In comparison, Jeffree Star is $18 for .19 oz, Jouer is $18 for .21 oz, Sugarpill is $18 for . 21 oz, Inglot HD Lip Tint Mattes are $18 for .18 oz. In my opinion, I think the amount of product you get for the price is less than I expected from Makeup Geek. Yes, $12 is less than $18, but you’re getting about 1/3 the amount of product.
Plush Lip Mattes Color Names
Arguably, I know that it’s hard to make everyone happy with color names, but names like Plain Jane, Marriage Material, and Soccer Mom make me cringe. Cougar would be cute if it was referring to the animal, but it’s not. I do love Bachelorette, as it reminds me of a Bjork song. Well, specifically, the Voltaire cover of Bachelorette. Ultimately though, I’m not a fan of the names.
Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes Review
Makeup Geek describes the Plush Lip Mattes formula as between a cream and a mousse. I’d say that’s a pretty good description. It does dry down onto your lips but it is not drying. It does leave a stain. It is smudge and transfer resistant but not smudge proof or transfer proof.
I think the Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes has a great formula. It’s so comfortable to wear. It’s extremely pigmented. I like that it leaves a stain behind after you remove it, but I can see that being a deal breaker for some people. They do come off if you eat, so you’ll need to touch up after meals. They’re definitely not kiss proof. These are not your typical matte liquid lipsticks that have been done to death.
For almost all shades, the formula did not emphasize lip lines. In fact it tends to hide them. The exception for me was Rocker Chick. Rocker Chick clung to dry patches and was streaky. It’s the only problem child in the set. I like the vast majority of these colors, though I don’t think Beach Bunny or Smarty Pants are flattering on me.
I do feel like the swatches on Makeup Geek’s website aren’t accurate for all shades. I also feel like the colors you see in the tube aren’t necessarily how they turn out once you put them on. That said, I still think most of the shades are lovely.
Soccer Mom and Goodie Two-Shoes are both nice soft lip colors. Urbanista, Boss Lady, and Beauty Queen are pretty. I love Misfit, Cougar, Bachelorette, Party Girl, Daredevil and Wild Child. Tomboy is a really nice shade. To me, the most unique shades in the collection are Misfit, Wild Child, and Urbanista. The shades I want to wear the most right now are Cougar, Urbanista, Tomboy and Misfit.
If you don’t like matte lipsticks, non smudge proof liquid lipsticks, or lipsticks that leave a stain, you should skip these.
If you’re looking for a comfortable matte lip formula, you need to check out the Makeup Geek Plush Lip Mattes. I think you’ll love them.

Beach bunny looks awesome!
I was super curious about these! Love that MUG expanded their lineup with these lippies, they all look stunning!
I’m happy about it too!
I don’t think the first 3 would work well on me, but the rest need to come home with me – especially Urbanista!
The first 5 are not my favs, either. Urbanista is awesome!
I like tomboy, beauty queen, and urbanista
Beauty Queen would be amazing on you.
The pigment in these is intense. I’m impressed that they don’t look drying on your lips. Really pretty shades.
It’s like they fill in lip lines.
Such pretty colors!
I think you’d look great in Beauty Queen!
This sounds like the type of formula I’d like.
I love how it blurs lip lines.
Marriage Material is my kind of dusty mauve lippie!
Glad you like it!
Oooh, they’re gorgeous shades, and because they’re plush mattes I might even be able to wear them.
They’re very comfortable!
