How to DIY Cream Blush
Today I’m sharing a how to DIY cream blush that lasts all day thanks to Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I used loose powder eyeshadows and blushes to create the unusual colors. I’m wearing the DIY cream blushes Diana and Kupala on my cheeks in the video, as well as Kupala in the crease and as a transition shade on my eyes.
Thanks to Smashbox for sending me their primers! This is not a sponsored video or sponsored post. I love to share cool DIY beauty tips.
Rachel, one of the moderators from the Hex Squad group inspired this video. Thank you so much Rachel! Rachel is one of the many talented makeup artists in the Hex Squad and she loves to share makeup tips and tricks with us like this.
How to DIY Cream Blush Video
I’m always complaining about how mainstream brands don’t make enough cool toned products. They don’t make enough cool toned blushes, that’s for sure, especially in the formulas I desire. So I shopped my stash for 12 beautiful loose blushes and turned those into a cream blush collection.

What are the ingredients needed to make a diy cream blush?
What are the ingredients needed to make a diy cream blush? Here’s the ingredients needed to make a DIY Cream blush with no heat. If you TRULY want to DIY it yourself, you can experiment with using shea butter, coconut oil, and candelilla or beeswax, all of which will require heat.
I’m going to stick to using an already made base of a face primer to be able to stay no heat and very simple.
To DIY my cream blushes, I used the Smashbox Photofinish Primer.
I chose the Smashbox Photofinish Primer because I wanted something with a slippy silicone feel and blurring technology, so that the blush doesn’t emphasize pores or fine lines around my face. Plus, a primer helps makeup to stay around all day!
I also included the Danessa Myricks Prism FX Hydrating lotion in Original, which shifts to a pinky violet and Gold, which is an iridescent gold, in a few of the colors. It helped to improve the texture and glow. You known I’m all about that glow with my dry skin!
You can shop your stash and use whatever you have on hand or try the Smashbox Photofinish primer!
How to Choose the Right Pigments for DIY Cream Blush
Try any of your loose cosmetic pigments, such as loose eyeshadows, loose blushes, etc that you have. I am in LOVE with my Aromaleigh loose blushes and multipurpose powders, so the bulk of the DIY cream blushes I created feature Aromaleigh, but I also included a stunner from My Pretty Zombie and a beautiful blush from Silk Naturals!

A few of you asked if you can I create a multi-purpose cream product that can be used as both blush and lip tint? Yes, you can create a diy creamn blush that does both if you make sure to choose a base that is lip safe as well as face safe.
