Happy Sunday, beautiful people! Today I’m bringing you my Half-Magic Beauty Excuse Me Sir We are Aliens Look. I’ve been dreaming about creating this chartreuse green and royal blue look for quite a while. Devinah Fairy Fire is the perfect multichrome compliment to these dreamy mattes. These colors make my blue green eyes pop!

Eyes How-To

Half Magic Beauty, Devinah, Silk Naturals, and Danessa Myricks indie makeup brands

Here’s how I created my eyes for the Half-Magic Beauty Excuse Me Sir We are Aliens Look:

  1. I brushed my eyebrows up, then applied Nyx Thick it Stick It! Thickening Brow Gel, brushing upwards.
  2. I filled in my brow tails with Nyx Micro Brow Pencil and added some structure at the arch and lower brow.
  3. Concrete Minerals Glitter Eye Primer applied from eyebrows to my lower lid.
  4. Half Magic Beauty We are Aliens Chromaddiction Matte Eye Paint was swiped at my inner lid and blended outwards with About Face 3D Mult-Use Eye Brush.
  5. I mixed Half Magic Beauty We are Aliens with a bit of Beauty Off the Deep End Chromaddiction Matte Eye Paint and applied that at the outer lid with the About Faced Define + Blend Crease Cream Brush.
  6. Using the About Face Angled Wing Tip Liner Brush, I created a vivid blue wing with Off the Deep End.
  7. Devinah Scylla was applied with my finger tip to the inner half of the lid.
  8. Devinah Fairy Fire was applied with a Smith 253 Brush on top of Scylla to the lid and inner corner.
  9. I used the About Face Detail Liner Brush to line the inner liner with Off the Deep End.
  10. Fenty Lavender Pro Filt’r Loose Setting Powder  blended out all edges with my It Brushes Smokey Liner Brush.
  11. Nabla Mint Cupid’s Arrow Longwear Stylo brightened the waterline.
  12. My Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara finished the eyes.

Complexion How-To

I get so many questions about how to apply complexion that I wanted to make sure I included it in the Half-Magic Beauty Excuse Me Sir We are Aliens Look how-to. The most important thing I want to emphasize is that skin prep before makeup is crucial! I prep my skin before I apply makeup, making sure it’s hydrated and plump. CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence goes directly on my face to plump it up, while Canmake Mermaid Skin SPF 50 protects it from the devastating sun. I let that soak in while I’m doing my eyes and then my face is ready for makeup.

Step-by-Step

  1. Using my fingers, I applied Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder around my face to the areas I want blurred – my nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin. I use the warmth of my fingers to help it meld with my face.
  2. I highlighted with Gold Prism FX Hydrating Lotion on the high points of the face.
  3. Smashbox F10-W Halo Healthy Glow 4-in-1 Perfecting Pen Concealer minimized my stress acne on my chin.
  4. Gold Prism FX Hydrating Lotion mixed with Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint on the back of my hand, dotted around the center of my face, and blended outwards.
  5. Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint applied to the perimeter of my face and blended inwards.
  6. Jouer Sunset Bloom Bronze & Glow Cream Bronzer swiped horizontally across my cheeks, along the sides of my nose, and the perimeter of my face, then blended out.
  7. Physicians Formula Light Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer blended where I placed the cream bronzer.
  8. Flower Beauty Sunrise Heatwave Luminous Bronzer added dimension to the bronzer placement.
  9. I lightly dusted Silk Naturals Light Meld Setting Powder all over to help everything blend together.
  10. Gold Prism FX Hydrating Lotion was tapped on to add a little more glow.
  11. Beyou Energizing Green Tea Facial Mist and Setting Spray was used as the final step.

Silk Naturals Light Meld Setting Powder is crucial for me! It’s the product that helps me add dimension and depth by seamlessly blending with the bronzer around my face. And the Danessa Myricks Beauty Gold Prism FX Hydrating Lotion is a multi-tasking wonder for me. I love using it as an illuminating primer, to add dimension/iridescence at the center of my face, to higlight, and to add hydration to my dry skin.

How to Lips

These lips are truly the easiest ever, as they’re just outline the lips and then fill them in. I outlined the lips with my beloved but discontinued KVD Beauty Poe Lip Pencil. It’s sad to see that there are no deep royal blue lip pencils available at Ulta anymore, though you can still find some other places. I would recommend trying Nyx Saw a Ghost Pepper or Nyx Jet Set or Half-Magic Watch Me Fly and Try to Stop Me. Then I filled in my entire lips with Half Magic Beauty Excuse Me, Sir Mouth Cloud.

Favorite Bronzers

And what are your favorite bronzers? Bronzers are new makeup territory for me. I’m searching for desaturated yellow and yellow olive toned bronzers. Right now my favorite bronzers are:

Most bronzers pull too orange or too peach on me. I’m a very fair neutral cool to muted yellow olive skin tone, so desaturated complexion products often work the best for me.

Mattes and multichromes are my favorite way to wear makeup right now. I love using the two together. Mattes make me feel grounded while multichromes give me ethereal, otherworldly fae vibes and I’m here for it.
