Darling Girl MILF Matte I’d Like to Find Eyeshadows

Not too long ago Darling Girl sent me the Darling Girl MILF Matte I'd Like to Find Eyeshadows to swatch and review. I also bought some of the colors of the month and other full sizes. I'll be showing you both today.

Not too long ago Darling Girl sent me the Darling Girl MILF Matte I’d Like to Find Eyeshadows to swatch and review. I also bought some of the colors of the month and other full sizes. I’ll be showing you both today.

By the way, if you love indies, last night in Poise Chat I live swatched some. You can watch that video here.

Darling Girl MILF Matte I’d Like to Find Eyeshadows

All shades swatched on the Darling Girl eyeshadow primer.

Darling Girl Wild Hearts swatch

Wild Hearts
light lilac pink matte
Wild Hearts is a soft pink with purple undertone matte. It reminds me of Meow from the Kat Von D Pastel Goth palette except it has a lot more pigmentation.

Darling Girl Dark Desire swatch

Dark Desire
deep matte black
Dark Desire is a perfect matte black eyeshadow. It’s not too pigmented, it’s not fallout prone. It’s got just the right amount of pigmentation to make it easy to deepen a color or use as a liner. It’s my favorite black eyeshadow that I’ve used recently.

Darling Girl Clandestine swatch

Clandestine
matte robin’s egg blue
Clandestine is a light turquoise blue matte.

Darling Girl Indecent Proposal swatch

Indecent Proposal
matte warm rose
Indecent Proposal is a rosy brick shade with orange undertones. It looks like it might be a dupe for the upcoming Kat Von D Lolita Eyeshadow / Blush.
Darling Girl Love Drug swatch

Love Drug
matte charcoal grey
Love Drug is a beautiful slightly deeper than midtone grey matte. I’m a huge fan of grey eyeshadow and think it’s gorgeous.
Darling Girl Wicked Ways swatch

Wicked Ways
midnight teal matte
Wicked Ways is a slightly deeper than midtone teal matte. And for some reason it makes me think of the Chris Isaak song Wicked Game.
Darling Girl Sweet Surrender swatch

Sweet Surrender
midtone matte lavender
Sweet Surrender is a lavender purple matte. It reminds me of Kat Von D Dope from the Pastel Goth palette.

Darling Girl Afternoon Delight swatch

Afternoon Delight
bright plummy pink with a matte finish
Afternoon Delight is a bright pink with a purple undertone matte.

Row 1 – Love Drug – Wicked Ways – Sweet Surrender – Afternoon Delight
Row 2 – Indecent Proposal – Clandestine – Dark Desire – Wild Hearts

The Darling Girl MILF Matte I’d Like to Find eyeshadow formula is a great loose matte formula. The colors are easy to work with. They blend out without issue. They have good pigmentation but not too much pigmentation. You can blend them out if you make a mistake. You only need a little bit of the black to deepen a shade.

Colors of the Month & Others

Darling Girl No Tea No Shade swatch Darling Girl No Tea No Shade swatch

No Tea No Shade
No Tea No Shade is a GWP shade. It looks like a brown taupe to me with multi-colored sparkle. The top photo was taken inside in indirect light. The bottom photo was taken under studio lights.

Darling Girl Pink Sugar swatch Darling Girl Pink Sugar swatch

Pink Sugar
Pink Sugar is a GWP shade. It’s kind of a nude pink-peach with golden sparkle. The top photo was taken inside in indirect light. The bottom photo was taken under studio lights.

Darling Girl Tragic Death of Mr. Stay Puft swatch Darling Girl Tragic Death of Mr. Stay Puft swatch

Tragic Death of Mr. Stay Puft
light toasted tan with a hint of blue, red and gold iridescence just like the adorable toasted villain we loved.
Tragic Death of Mr. Stay Puft was from the Ghost Busters Who Ya Gonna Call collection. I think it’s been discontinued, which makes me sad. It’s a favored lid shade for when I need a single wash of color. It’s a light beige with a pink shift and multi-colored sparkles.

Darling Girl Break The Internet swatch

Break the Internet
midtone peachy brown matte
Break the Internet is a midtone peachy brown matte on me. I love it as a crease color for warmer looks or neutrals.

Darling Girl We Are the Weirdos, Mister swatch Darling Girl We Are the Weirdos, Mister swatch

We are the Weirdos, Mister
blackened gold with color shifting holo-sparkle.
We are the Weirdos, Mister is a rich, blackened aged bronze multi-colored holo sparkle. It was a Color of the Month inspired by one of my favorite movies, the Craft. They’re talking about remaking this movie, which seems like blasphemy to me. I have little faith of them doing it right. Just like I think The Crow remake will be hard to do right.

Darling Girl Unicorn Frapuccino swatch Darling Girl Unicorn Frapuccino swatch

Unicorn Frapuccino
lilac pink with blue sheen and gold blue purple sparkles
Unicorn Frapuccino is a lilac pink with a blue sheen. It also has gold, blue and purple sparkles. I mostly see the blue sheen and blue/purple sparkles when worn but my swatches picked up the gold. This is another Color of the Month. It was inspired by the Starbucks drink.

A note, on the Darling Girl website this color is spelled Unicorn Frapuccino. On my eyeshadow it’s spelled Unicorn Frappuccino. So I’m not sure which is the correct spelling for Darling Girl.

Darling Girl Mermaid Magic swatch Darling Girl Mermaid Magic swatch Darling Girl Mermaid Magic swatch

Mermaid Magic (limited edition, no longer available)
blue grey base with color shift from turquoise to violet
Mermaid Magic is such a complex color that usually has a deep teal blue base with a color shift from turquoise to blue to violet to pink. I tried to capture it all. In the indirect light shots, you can more easily see the violet-pink. I love this color to bits.

Darling Girl Eyeshadow Swatches

Row 1 – Pink Sugar – Tragic Death of Mr. Stay Puft – Unicorn Frapuccino – Mermaid Magic
Row 2 – Break the Internet – No Tea, No Shade – We are the Weirdos, Mister

Wearing Darling Girl Mermaid Magic and UD Basquiat Tenant Palette

A look with Mermaid Magic on the lid and as liner. See the details. I did a similar look with Mermaid Magic here.

Unicorn Frapuccino

I created the above look with Unicorn Frapuccino on the lid, Sweet Surrender in the crease, Wild Hearts to blend out the edges and a bit of Dark Desire to deepen Sweet Surrender at the outer v. See my tutorial.

If you’re looking for unique eyeshadows, you should check out Darling Girl. The mattes are excellent and many shades remind me of the limited edition Kat Von D Pastel Goth palette. The Colors of the Month disappear all too quick, so if you like Unicorn Frapuccino, you should snap it up.

What do you think of the Darling Girl Matte I’d Like to Find and the COTMs?

  1. This is the most beautiful look I’ve seen with the Mermaid-esque shade trend…It gives you a beautiful holographic, multi-dimensional ethereal effect. Each of the shades is really gorgeous…I’m definitely going to pick up Unicorn Frappacino from DG! I love all the colors of the month are really gorgeous, the first three shades can be used so many ways-and they would combine really beautifully with some other shades I have. -Mermaid Magic is really beautiful, hopefully I can find a dupe for that since it was ltd. Sweet Surrender is a really beautiful shade, and I agree-they would be great dupes for the Pastel Goth Palette. I didn’t pick up that palette because I was really trying to do a shadow no buy and use the palettes(recent ones especially) and I really love the MetalMatte palette, which has cooler shades as well. Metal Matte shades would actually pair beautifully with these! I will be sure to check out the other tutorials that you linked….

  2. I ordered Unicorn Frap, and some of the MILF collection. I’m glad to see they reviewed well.

  3. I’m so happy to hear that you like the mattes and I absolutely love both looks you posted but the one with Mermaid Magic I really adore, it reminds me of a tropical fish for some reasin, in a good way of course! <3
