Winged Eyeliner Tutorial for Hooded Eyes

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial for Hooded Eyes

Hi! Today I’m bringing you an in-depth winged eyeliner tutorial for hooded eyes with tips for mature eyes. My friend Mickey (former Urban Decay makeup artist) helped to create this tutorial.

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial for Hooded Eyes

Ever think you can’t do cat eyes or winged eyeliner because you have hooded eyes? Think again! Mickey shows you how to do winged eyeliner on my hooded eyes. We even chose the eye with the ‘worse’ hood to work with. By the way, I’m barefaced, with only SPF on, in this video. So that’s my skin and the redness from my rosacea.

This video only focuses on how to create winged liner. It doesn’t focus on any other makeup and I’m not wearing any other makeup in the photo or video so that you can see the eyeliner. I didn’t want to hide the winged liner behind large false lashes.

If you’re trying this on your own, I highly recommend that you use the soft paper medical tape to help you create a line along the bottom edge. That will help you to go back and fill in the gaps around the bottom of the outer corner that are caused by the crease / hood. That’s what I use to help me fill them in.

  1. I find myself coming back to this post over and over. Someday I will get a wing that works! Suck that my hoods are different from each other (like most people’s!) practice makes mostly perfect ?

  2. Thank you for this tutorial. I was beginning to think my wings looked wrong but they are close to yours!
