New Indie Beauty at the Makeup Show Orlando

There are so many new indie beauty brands at the Makeup Show Orlando this year! It’s that time of year again for the Makeup Show to be near me in Florida, so I’ll be there this weekend. I was thrilled to find out about all the new cruelty-free indie beauty brands that will be there. And there are so many from Florida!

The Makeup Show Orlando is at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Orlando Florida. It’s Saturday Sept. 15 from 9am until 5pm and Sunday Sept. 16 from 9am until 5pm. New Indie Beauty Brands from Florida

It’s been tossed around that Florida is becoming a beauty mecca! I have to agree. I love seeing new, awesome beauty companies pop up here.

  • Be RAD Cosmetics – they’re a cruelty-free indie beauty lash company
  • Formula Z Cosmetics – they’re a cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free and vegan indie beauty makeup company
  • Nuest Cosmetics – they’re a cruelty-free indie beauty makeup company
  • Twinmedix – they’re a cruelty-free indie beauty skincare company (I’m OBSESSED with their Vitamin C serum)
  • Volcanic Origins – they’re a cruelty-free indie beauty skincare company

I’m actually surprised that Half Caked Makeup (a vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand in Tampa) won’t be there!

The Makeup Show Orlando Workshops

There are so many great workshops at the Makeup Show Orlando this year! If you go to the Makeup Show you should consider taking advantage of the education opportunities available. This is the first year I’ll be able to take advantage of the education available at the Makeup Show. I signed up for two classes:

Emphasis Eyes by Orlando Santiago from 10 am to 1 pm in Studio 1 on Saturday

The application an artist decides to emphasis the eyes can make all the difference. In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the use of color, texture, and placement in creating shapes and illusions with multiple product options. We will discuss product options and the role they play in perfecting application. Learn techniques for lining and defining, understand the power of depth and volume, and explore the relationship between brow, lash and every area of the eye.  Whether you are just starting out or elevating your makeup to the next  level, this workshop will have you designing and applying a perfect eye for every occasion.

Fundamentals of Complexion and Contour by Danessa Myricks from 10 am to 1 pm in Studio 1 on Sunday

In this intensive hands-on workshop, we will look at one of the most important aspects of any application in achieving the perfect foundation. We will explore how product can be manipulated by an artist to attain any desired coverage and texture and the importance of color theory, color matching, correction and coverage in creating flawless foundation. We will discern the decision making process and the why and when in choosing liquid, crème and powder formulations. In the hands-on portion, you will be challenged to color match multiple clients and correctly apply three different formulas of foundation to achieve desired coverage. This workshop is ideal for a beginning makeup artist or artist who wants to explore the building blocks of a beautiful application.

I’m always trying to improve my skills because I’m a makeup enthusiast, not a certified makeup artist. I’ve wanted to take lessons from Orlando Santiago for almost 2 years. I’ve been obsessed with Danessa Myricks and how she does skin since I found her account on Instagram. I love skin that looks lit from within, dewy, glowy and gorgeous. So I’m excited I’ll be learning from her! I had the opportunity to meet her this week when I was in New York for Fashion Week and she is amazing!
