What Simple Human says about the Mini Sensor Mirror LED Light

  • At 550 lux, the tru-lux light system is more than twice as bright as the next best. The light from surgical-grade LEDs is dispersed evenly with a unique pattern of micro-reflectors throughout the ring – no light loss or hot spots.
  • With a color rendering index (CRI) of 90, the tru-lux light system closely simulates natural sunlight and the full color spectrum to show every detail.
  • Looking good in this light means you will look flawless in any setting

What I liked about it

  • Really nice travel case. It’s secure, padded and sturdy. It travels well.
  • It’s easy to charge. You can use a standard USB cable to charge it on your laptop.
  • One charge lasts up to 5 weeks.
  • It has 10x magnification. It’s the best mirror to use for tweezing your eyebrows or if you’re a guy, shaving your face. Ray really liked it for shaving his face face.
  • It lights up with  LED light that is a daylight bulb, which is beautiful and clear and makes it easy to see what you’re doing.

What I didn’t like about it

  • It ONLY has the 10 times magnification side. There is no normal side.
  • The 5″ mirror size is too small for me to easily do my eye makeup and the rest of my Face. I needed a normal mirror or a compact mirror, and I disliked the back and forth between the two mirrors. Especially when I was at my grandma’s house, all of her lights are warm toned, so I really disliked switching between a mirror with perfect (for me) light that was too small, to the larger mirror with the bad lighting.
  • While I really like the LED light, it would shut off unexpectedly when I wasn’t done with it.

For me, it’s not ideal for travel. I need to have a mirror this size without the 10 times magnification for travel, OR to have a mirror with a normal side and a magnified side.

I think this is ideal for people who need a 10x magnification mirror. Like I mentioned, Ray really likes this mirror for shaving his face. I found it extremely helpful for plucking my eyebrows but I did not like it for putting on a full face of makeup. And it was too hard to do cat eyes in just this one mirror because I could only look at one eye at a time.

What do you think of the simplehuman mini sensor mirror? What do you need in a travel mirror?

  1. I need a magnifying mirror because I can’t see to put on my makeup without my glasses… which I have to take off in order to do my makeup! lol. But I like to switch between the magnification and regular, too. Somet things do not need to be seen at 10x. I love that it’s lighted, too – I’ve never had that. your costume is cute! love the necklace, lol.

  2. It looks like a good mirror for get up close tasks but that price! I have a little round 10X mag mirror that I stick to the 5X side of my lighted mirror and it works a treat and cost me about five clams. 😀
