Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette
Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette
Quite a while ago I bought the Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette. It’s been in my to-review pile for a while. Nyx described the Gloomy days palette as black, white and grey neutrals with matte, shimmer and duochromatic finishes. I bought it because it looked to me like it was a cool-toned palette, which is like a unicorn in the makeup world.

The Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette is a vast improvement from the Nyx eyeshadow singles that I’ve tried in the past, as well as some of the other quads and palettes that I’ve tried. The eyeshadow formula is very buildable and very blendable. It’s hard to overdo it with these colors. So while I feel like they could use more pigmentation, they’re not too bad.
The packaging is very spartan. The lid is clear, making it easy to see all the colors in the palette. There are no color names, unfortunately. I wish Nyx would name all of their colors and put the names below each eyeshadow. I think that personalizes an eyeshadow palette and makes me more likely to reach for it.
The eyeshadows are slightly larger than average. You’re getting .06 oz for each eyeshadow, while the typical average is .05. However, you’ll end up using a little bit more than average, since you do have to build up these colors.
The Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette has a great mix of cool-toned eyeshadows. It’s a truly cool-toned eyeshadow palette, such a rarity to find available right now! I love all the colors picked for this palette.
The light silver shimmer, the taupe brown with silver shimmer and the light putty grey with pink shift are shades I like to use on the lid. The grey with purple undertone and deep cool grey satin-matte are both good for crease shades. The light beige with grey undertones is good for blending out the edges of other colors. I like the white matte as a highlight or to lighten other colors. The black matte is good as a liner. The deep charcoal grey sparkle with the light silver shimmer makes for a pretty smoky eye. As much as I love blues, I’ve not actually used the blue in this palette because I don’t really know what to pair it with.
Because of the well-thought-out shade range and nice mix of finishes in the Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette, you can really create an excellent variety of cool-toned eyeshadow looks with the palette.
If you’re in the market for a cool-toned eyeshadow palette stuffed with staple neutral colors, the Nyx Gloomy Days Perfect Filter Shadow Palette is for you. If you hate cool tones, or you’ve got too many neutral palettes, you should skip this one.

One shade that is light enough for a pale girl to use as a highlighter.
I am really looking forward to checking this palette out. I am cool toned and you are so correct in saying they are hard to find.
I totally missed this when it came out! No one talks about cool tones ? I’m so happy this exists and the white/light shades are actually light enough!
I know this will be really helpful for a lot of cool-toned people.
