Makeup Wars Skin Savers

Cruelty Free Skin Savers

Happy Makeup Wars Monday! This time we’re talking about Skin Savers. From lips to tips, I’ve got you covered. There are a few products that I reach for when I need a saver, usually from dry skin, but sometimes from sensitive and irritated skin. These are the products that never break me out or cause my skin any issues.

Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost Hydrating Treatment Cream
It provides a protective barrier against the harsh effects of the environment with its unique combination of plant oils, antioxidants, emollients, cell-communicating ingredients and skin-identical ingredients.

This is ultra hydrating and rich, especially for the eyes. It was a life saver for me during the dry winter months.

NARS Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisturizer
A refreshing, aqua-rich gel-cream that hydrates, revitalizes and fortifies the skin.

I’ve used this several times as a moisture mask, both during the day and at night.

Supergoop! Mintfusion Lip Balm
Ultra-moisturizing Broad Spectrum SPF 30 lip balm with cooling spearmint leaf oil
Ideal for all skin types, particularly sensitive skin. Gluten-Free, Paraben-Free, Cruelty-Free and Vegan. (Vegan)

The mix of of shea butter, aloe vera and coconut oil are able to penetrate my lips and deeply moisturize rather than sitting on top. I haven’t found a lip product that I like better at night aside from the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, which I won’t repurchase because of the shoddy packaging. I’m still looking for that perfect ultra moisturizing lip mask.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate
This velvety moisturizer gives skin the ultimate silky finish, thanks to generous amounts of soothing shea butter and aloe vera. Plus, it doubles as a makeup remover, post-shave soother, and all-over body lotion. It’s rich without being heavy.

The amazing James Vincent turned me on to Embryolisse and I love it. I’ve gone through 5 tubes at this point and I always like to have at least 2 tubes in the house. It really feels wonderful and makes my skin feel plumped up, soothed and soft.

Cocoa Pink Voluptuous Body Butter
The carefully chosen combination of vitamin-rich oils in our Voluptuous Body Butter formula imparts a non-greasy texture that last all day. Over 30% organic refined shea butter, babassu, rice bran oil, avocado, meadowfoam and calendula. (Vegan)

While I love Cocoa Pink’s Whipped Dream (coconut oil, brazilian babassu oil and argan oil) and Coco Mango Body Butter (cocoa butter, mango butter, babassu oil, avocado oil, rice bran oil, meadowfoam oil, calendula oil, aloe extract), after trying all 3 I prefer the Voluptuous Body Butter for hydrating my body.

Fortune Cookie Soap OMGWTFudge-Banana Milk Bath
This shake of a milk bath contains banana pulp powder (great moisturizing for dry skin), cocoa powder (skin softening), Epsom salt (relaxes and soothes muscles) and finally some whole milk powder (moisturizer).

This really is wonderful for moisturizing my skin and relaxing me.

KBShimmer Cuticle Oil Pen (press sample)
KBShimmer starts with a base of avocado oil, and added shea butter, apricot oil, wheat germ oil, evening primrose oil, argan oil, jojoba and olive oil.  Vitamin E and special essential oil blend that includes lemongrass finishes off the base of the cuticle oil. Pink sugar has notes  of sweet cotton candy, lemon, caramel and raspberry, fused together with an  undertone of musk and vanilla.

This smells delicious and it’s easy to apply. It really helps to keep your nails and cuticles healthy.

Rainbow Honey Cuticle Balms
Cold Pressed Avocado Oil. Tropical Cupuacu Butter. Babassu Oil. Organic Coconut Oil. Plus our secret weapon, Maracuja Oil. And topped it off with some Vitamin E. (Vegan)

While you can use a cuticle oil or a cuticle balm, you can benefit overnight from using an oil and then topping it with a balm. I love these and have a ton of scents thanks to my Rainbow Honey Mini-Mystery Bag Subscription.
