The formula is sort of like pressed pigment, very loosely packed into the pan. So while one of my shades arrived cracked, after I swatched it, it pressed back together.

I felt like Center Stage, Houdini and Caitlin Rose were less pigmented than the rest, though they could be built up.

All shades swatched on Coastal Scents Step One primer.

The collection feels warm-toned to me overall, and there are lots of neutrals. All ten of the eyeshadows are nice, though Caitlin Rose, Houdini and Center Stage appear to be less pigmented to me than the rest of the shades. Caitlin Rose, Magic Act, and In the Spotlight are glowy shades that I feel are eye brighteners. Showtine, Mesmerized, Center Stage and Houdini are good shade for shading or the crease.

The three eyeshadows that I wore – Caitlin Rose, Houdini and Magic Act wore all day on eyeshadow primer for me. I didn’t experience any creasing. I did experience a bit of transfer from Caitlin Rose, but I have very hooded eyes.

What do you think of the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows? What sort of shades would you like to see added?

  1. those look outstanding!!!! I’ve never tried anything Makeup Geek, but these are going on my list.

  2. I’m seriously obsessed with Jester and Houdini and I have about 4 different looks planned using those two. I’m also planning on doing something with Flamethrower and Bitten from MUG. I love your swatches!

  3. Augh! *loosens collar* These are gorgeous. I think Center Stage and Jester are my favourites, but there are a lot of gorgeous metallics here. 🙂

  4. great photos of the swatches! seems like a lot of packaging though for just a pan o’ color.

    1. That’s how all the Makeup Geek Refill pans are packaged. They also sell the shadows in cases if you like that, but I prefer the refill pans in a Z-palette for storage.

  5. They are so pigmented ! I can’t get over it, maybe I will find them in my stockin but probably not.

  6. Ugh. Of course I want them all. Makeup Geek has turned me on to wearing more color more often and these shades are only encouraging my new habit!
