Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

The Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette is now available at Sephora.com for VIB and VIB Rouge. It’s a new permanent palette. While I thought the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette leaned warm, this one seems to be even warmer toned. I LOVE that Too Faced took feedback from customers and printed the names of the eyeshadows directly onto the palette this time. 14 eyeshadows .03 oz each, 2 eyeshadows .07 oz each. A typical eyeshadow is .05 oz each.

  1. First I was so excited for this one. I do have also the first one. But I calmed myself down- I don´t think I need another neutral palette and I have seen swatches of the blueberry swirl that weren´t all that amazing. I think I skip this one! 😉

    1. Blueberry swirl is much greyer on fair skin than it is in the palette. I’m glad I held out on a neutral palette so long and got this one instead, but it would disappointing if you had others, I agree.

  2. How do the shadows on this compare to the Naked on the Run Palette, especially in swatch? I just ordered the Semi-sweet palette because I fell in love the blue shadow in it, but think the Naked on the Run will be more practical for travel due to being all-in-one. If the brown shadows are nearly identical, and it really looks like they are, I will have a harder time justifying ordering it, even with a $15 off coupon I got in trade…

    1. Hi! I have the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar, but not the new Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar, so I can’t compare the palette to the Naked on the Run. The Naked on the Run has blush / bronzer / gloss / mascara / liner + several eyeshadows vs. the Semi Sweet which is all eyeshadow. The bronzer is too dark / orange for my coloring (but that may not be an issue for you), the blush is nice. The highlighter shade in the Naked on the Run palette works for eyeshadow or cheek, but again, it’s too dark for my skin to work well as a highlighter. You have more versatility in eyeshadow shades with the Semi Sweet.

      1. I ended up getting it a couple of days ago. Here are pics of the palette next to Smoked, the other palette I picked up this fall as well as swatches from the Semi-sweet palette, colors are top to bottom, left to right. (This is natural light on the left, flash on the right, sorry so dark, been a gloomy couple of day here) Some of the colors don’t even show up on my skin, like coconut creme or nougat. The big surprise was pink sugar. It has a bit of fall-out from the glitter, but it really sparkles and is my unexpected favorite or them all, especially with all the trendy rose-gold stuff out now. I’m glad I held out on a neutral palette, as this is gonna fit the bill nicely, the few clunkers aside. The chocolate scent is STRONG, though, and if you don’t like it or are sensitive to scents, it might be a dealbreaker.

  3. Love the look of this!!!! I haven’t purchased the first one yet but I definitely want it, love warm toned neutrals, they go with my brown eyes! So glad they got rid of the plastic sheets-I’ve had those on palettes before..I’m not a Sephora VIB though because I don’t shop there that much, either my next purchase will get me there…Can’t buy another palette right now b/c I just bought the ETUDE! Can’t wait for your review/swatches!

      1. Thanks so much, I can’t wait to get it, I was tempted pay more for faster shipping, it should be here tomorrow though! Your review definitely helped me decide on it(since I always have trouble choosing which to buy) I think with the Etude and the NARSissist Smokey eye I’ll be set up with some good workhorse shades don’t you think? I’m ready to get my site up so I think I’ll do the Etude for my first tutorial! I also thought it would be great because you can contour with it and use it for brows, I don’t have to buy a separate Contour Palette yet!

      2. I DO I DO!!! It is so awesome that I would say that it’s the best $50 I’ve ever spent on makeup-it’s that great. The shades are so pigmented that you don’t have to really color wash over and over and they LAST and of course they are velvety, smooth mattes as you said, no chalkiness at all. I tried the one color, the warm reddish one as a blush and it was great!!! I’m so glad you suggested doing that, I’m going to try it as a contour and for the brows tomorrow. I have a wedding coming up the day after Christmas that I’m invited too so I’m really glad I have it! Thanks so so much!! 🙂 And thanks also for recommending the COVER FX Pressed Mineral Foundation for me, it’s SO great-I never thought about powder in the past but it’s so perfect for my combination skin, buffs out the redness/pores really well, EVEN the milia bumps! Great over the Mattifying primer which I also got! I do really need to get a good brush though, I think that will make it even better. And the N10 is absolutely perfect for me!

      1. Me, too. Our skin tones are close enough, I can get a good idea if a color will work on me from your swatches. 🙂

  4. I’m so glad they printed the names of the shadows on the palette instead of that plastic! The colors looks so beautiful!
