Fresh Vanilla Lemon Scent Notes
Essential Oils of crisp lemon, pure bamboo and powdery vanilla combine for our cleanest take on vanilla yet.

I really like this scent because it’s soft and subtle and doesn’t compete with anything else I’m wearing.

As a deodorant, this works really well. It keeps me smelling nice for hours. I’ve been applying it after I get back from the gym and have showered. I wish that it was an anti-perspirant, so that it could be worn during the day, but it’s not.

If you do not live in a hot, subtropical climate like I do and you can get away with only using a deodorant most days, definitely try Lavanila the Healthy Deodorant. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how nicely it works.

Do you wear deodorants, antiperspirants or both?

  1. I take breaks from doing both deodorant and antiperspirant. For a long time I had use aluminum free but now that I am a less tropical climate, I seem to be back to normal.

  2. I was gonna ask but you read my mind already, it’s not antiperspirant so it’s not good for workout then

  3. After having a terrible experience with Crystal deodorant, I switched to this and I really love it! I live in South Florida, which is the most humid place on the planet, and it still keeps me dry during the day!

  4. I too would like to try a natural deo, but it’s just too hot here during the day and I sweat too much. I have switched to applying coconut oil to my underarms after my nightly shower instead of coating it with anti-persp. During the day though, I have to use my regular AP!

  5. I’m having the hardest time finding a natural deodorant. Unfortunately, the ingredients in this one are not clean enough for me. I keep reading wonderful reviews, though!

    1. After trying a ton of different brands, I have been using Bubble and Bee’s creams and sticks (Pit Putty) for almost 2 years now (I layer the stick over the cream because that’s what works best for my smelly self). They are very clean (by my definition). The scents that work best for me are the Super and the Orange Vanilla, but it really seems to be a person-by-person thing. They have a deodorant guarantee that they will have one that works for you, so if what you order doesn’t work, you can get another one for just the cost of shipping until you find the right one. Another brand that seems to work for a lot of people is Soapwalla, though I got a skin reaction from that one after about 3 months.

The Tom’s deodorant wasn’t for me (though when I had to buy some in a least-of-a-bunch-of-evils emergency situation, it caused a really really bad skin reaction for me, so I can’t wear it even if I liked it).

  6. I’ve given up on antiperspirant because of the aluminum in them (although if you know of any aluminum-free cruelty free antiperspirants, I’m all ears). I just finished a small version of Lavanilla and wanted to try a full size. This one sounds great!

  7. I use a deodorant every day. I don’t sweat a lot, and manage to keep things pretty well “unsmelly” haha I am looking for more natural alternatives.

  8. Usually deodorants, unless it’s smoking hot outside. I don’t sweat much, and the weather’s mild enough where I live that I can pretty much wear Lavanila year-round. My fave is the plain vanilla.

  9. maybe I’ll give this a shot! It’s so dry where I live, it could probably work for me

  10. Sounds nice! I have been using deoderant for quite some time. Valerian root is very relaxing so I imagine you get some benefit there absorbing it through your skin! It also comes in a tea if you have trouble sleeping or a capsule. It worked for my brother who had a cup before bed. Alvita makes a nice Valerian peppermint. He put just a dash of honey in it and it was pretty good. I am not a big fan of peppermint, but this wasn’t too much in it and you need isomthing with the valerian. I for one don’t particularly like it on its own.

      1. I know what you mean I have days where I have sweat pretty good and deoderant on its own didn’t do it for me. A friend of my gave me a Crystal deoderant that just uses minerals to combat oder. I was skeptical at first and it sat around the house for a while then I decided to try it. It actually worked pretty good. This may sound a little gross but I wanted to test it’s effectiveness and I was able to go 3 days without any Oder just using the crystal alone.

I had to see for myself that it was as effective as they were saying. But I like a little scent in my deoderant so I will put The Crystal on first and then layer it with my deoderant. You can get The Crystal in a lot of supermarkets. Stop and Shop has it. If you want to check it out go to http://www.the crystal.com
