Flirt! Dreamy Eyes Eye Shadow Swatches & Review

Recently I received a reader request to review Flirt! Dreamy Eyes Eye Shadows. Since I already love Flirt! It Curls mascara, I decided to give these a whirl, too.

My Shade Descriptions for the shadows:
Peach Champagne – pale frosty peach beige champagne, light enough for a wash of color all over
French Toast – mid-tone brown with bronze-gold sheen
Vanilla Truffle – matte light milk chocolate brown
Lime Light (looks like Vex) – palest green-grey with pink iridescence
Glamourazzi – reddish plum base with copper-bronze sparkles
Magic Mist – blackened dark purple matte

The Website Claims:
A crease-proof eyeshadow formula that applies smoothly with a palette of buildable color choices in a wide variety of finishes.

The Ingredients are:
TALC, MICA, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, IRON OXIDES, BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE, CHROMIUM OXIDE GREENS, MANGANESE VIOLET, YELLOW 5 LAKE (LABEL ABBREVIATION), CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN, ULTRAMARINES, ZINC STEARATE, CARMINE, BLUE 1 LAKE (LABEL ABBREVIATION), OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ISOSTEARYL NEOPENTANOATE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, SILICA, TETRASODIUM EDTA, CHLORPHENESIN, POTASSIUM SORBATE

Flirt states on their website that “We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except when required by law. We evaluate our finished products in clinical tests on volunteer panels.

Price:
$12 for .07 oz, sold only at Kohl’s (though you can find them on ebay for $6 each, which I did for a few shades.)

Does it live up to its claims?
I think the shadows do live up to their claims. The formula is really nice. The colors apply evenly, even the matte shades, and especially Vanilla Truffle, which I’m in love with. I can’t believe I love a brown. I like the different finishes I’ve tried. The shadows don’t crease on me, though I always use primer.

That being said, I HATE the packaging. The packaging sucks, horribly. It’s bulky, it’s annoying. However I’ll show you how to get rid of the awful packaging in an upcoming tutorial.

Also, I hate that it’s only available at Kohls. Kohls only offers a limited range online and in general I dislike going to the store, though recently it’s been better. The first time I went to a Kohl’s here in Florida, kids were running all over the store, they were taking the makeup testers and writing all over each other, and it was so obnoxious to be around I almost refused to go back.  I’d be happier if the full line was offered online at Kohl’s. Though, the swatches you can find the Flirt! site are fairly inaccurate, so it’s hard to really tell if you’ll like a color or not unless you see it in person or can find swatches of it online.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! If there’s a color I like, I will definitely purchase again. I think these are another fine offering from Flirt, even if I do hate the packaging. I feel like the price is reasonable for a single shadow, and Kohls probably has sales on their products from time to time. Additionally, if you’re lucky you can find them for about half the price on ebay, which isn’t bad, either.

What about you? Have you tried Flirt! Dreamy Eyes eye shadows? If so, what do you think?

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. Beautiful swatches, Glamourazzi is really calling my name. Love the eye look you did, very classy. 🙂

  2. Hey Phyrra!!
I’m somewhat confused on the packaging of these. Are they singles?? $12 for a single e/s?? Are they palettes of several different e/s??

    1. Hi there! Those are single eye shadows in really big, bulky packaging. Tomorrow I’ve got a how to depot them post coming up.

  3. I have a couple flirt eyeshadows and I have to agree with you on the packaging. It’s really annoying to use and I almost broke it the first time I tried to open it. I have an eyeshadow mousse shade that looks like Glamourazzi, but darker called High Maintenance and it’s an amazing color for smoky eyes. My eyes are green and the shadow brings them pop. The only problem is that mousses don’t stay on the eyes very well.

    1. I haven’t tried the mousses, because I thought that would be a problem with my oily eyes, that they wouldn’t stick aorund.

  4. I need Vanilla Truffle! I will have to make a trip to Kohl’s sometime soon. I didn’t realize they carried any makeup!

  5. I’ve always enjoyed Flirt! makeup. Glamourazzi is one of my all time favorite eyeshadows. I have Lime Light, but am not a huge fan. And they’ve always made good goldish shades, so French Toast and Peach Champagne are no surprise to me – they look lovely!

  6. I really like Flirt cosmetics in general & I agree about the packaging (it’s too bulky). One of my favorite colors is Golden Lady, which is a nice bronzier shade. You should definitely try their blushes as well. They are outstanding. Heartthrob is supposed to be a dupe of Nars Orgasm, although I never tried either one. Flirt also offers some nice kits around Christmas (and occasionally throughout the year).

    1. You’ll wanna check out my tutorial on depotting them tomorrow! Thanks for the rec on the blushes!

  7. I haven’t been in a Kohl’s in forever. I forgot they had started selling makeup! These look nice, there’s a store here in town, so I might just have to pop in and check them out in person. Thanks, Phyrra!
