Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look

Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look

Hello beautiful creatures! I’ve been practicing my 15-20 minute makeup looks lately for work. I wanted to share my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look, featuring one of the new Danessa Myricks Twin Flames eyeshadows. As you know, I love multichrome eyeshadows. Sometimes liquid formulas can be tricky to use on hooded eyes like mine though, due to the excess skin I have at the crease and outer corner of the eyes. Wondering if you have hooded eyes? Learn all about hooded eyes at Do I Have Hooded Eyes?

For those of you who have reached out to ask, my first week at my new job went well. So far everyone I’ve met and worked with has been very kind and helpful.

How to Use Danessa Myricks Twin Flames Eyeshadows on Hooded Eyes

I reached out to Danessa Myricks to ask her how to make the Twin Flames work on hooded eyes like mine. She said the trick is to leave your eyes closed for 60 seconds while the product dries. I set a timer on my cell phone while I do each eye individually. My Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look took me 20 minutes to put together.

Just a note, I used mostly natural light with a little bit of studio lighting for these photos of my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look today.

This is such a fast, easy eye look to recreate.

Soulmate Twin Flames Eyeshadow Tutorial

Here are the tutorial steps for my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look:

  1. Apply your eyeshadow primer. I used CoverGirl Lid Lock, which is the best drugstore eyeshadow primer I’ve found to date.
  2. Use a brush shaped like a Sigma E25 to apply a light layer of Natasha Denona Bia to the lid and crease. Build up the color through the crease to make a little more intense. If you don’t have this color look for a grungey yellow-green in your collection.
  3. Erase any harsh blending lines in your crease with a skin tone shade eyeshadow or powder and a brush like the Sigma E35. I used Cozzette C1 Essential Powder.
  4. Apply Danessa Myricks Soulmate to the lid and use a small brush like a Sigma E21 to diffuse the edges of Soulmate into Bia. Set a timer for 60 seconds, keep your eye closed and fan it with a business card while you wait for the timer to go off. I did each eye individually. If you are shopping your makeup stash, use whatever green duochrome you prefer.
  5. Line the lower lash line with Urban Decay Reflect pencil. This is a greenish goldish brown multichrome pencil that goes with a lot of my green looks but if you don’t have it choose your favorite pencil that is either golden brown or golden green.
  6. Top it off with a bit of mascara. I used Eyeko Fat Brush. Or pop on your favorite set of lashes and go.

I genuinely miss my lash lifts right now. I still haven’t worked up the courage to use the at-home lash lift kit I purchased.

For my super quick makeup looks for work, I tend to apply lipstick very lightly and blot it with tissue or my finger tips. I just want enough color that you can see that I have lips on Zoom, rather than letting my lips be the focus. And yes, I do video meetings daily at work.

Blush and Highlighter Makeup Thoughts

When it comes to me getting ready fast in the mornings, I am typically looking for a blush color that will help to add some definition to my cheeks and face without much effort. Colour Pop Matchmaker was perfect for my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look as it does just that.

Lately I’ve been reaching for Black Moon Centipede for quick cheek looks because the light champagne gold sheen is perfect for my skin, especially with peach, beige, or brown blushes. See my entire Black Moon Cosmetics Highlighter collection.

I recently purchased Colour Pop Matchmaker and fell in love with it. It’s the best blush I’ve ever purchased from Colour Pop. The color is described as a pale nude with gold pearl. It’s a light peachy beige with gold pearl and a pearlescent finish. This color and finish is amazing! I wish Colour Pop would make a cool toned version of this blush or release more blushes in this pearlized finish. I find it ideal for my skin tone.

Kim Chi Chic Beauty The Most Concealer

For my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look I applied my concealer after foundation instead of before. I applied my Kim Chi Chic Beauty The Most Concealer in TMC 01 Ivory under my eyes to give me a little more coverage and hide any dark circles. This is a pretty fabulous concealer and it’s my favorite product that I’ve tried from Kim Chi Chic Beauty!

At some point I hope to pick up 2 or 3 additional shades in this concealer formula. The two colors I would like to try for sure are  TMC 24 Green and TMC 27 Pale. Green is to help counter redness. And Pale is supposed to be a very fair yellow. I’ve been trying to determine which of these concealer shades would match a ‘pale biscuit’ to try for a soft natural contour color.

Hell Bunny Fashion

I’ve been wearing a ton of my Hell Bunny shirts lately! They’re perfect for gothic office professional looks and I highly recommend them. You can find Hell Bunny at Hell Bunny, AmazonMod ClothHot Topic, Sourpuss, and probably a ton of other places around the web. See more of my Hell Bunny fashion features.

Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation

Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation in Ultra Fair Neutral

I’ve been testing out the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation. First, I love how this feels on my skin. Second, I love that so far it has not oxidized on me or darkened in hue, which can happen with foundations because of the skin’s pH levels. Third, I love the dewy glow it gives! Fourth, I like the amount of coverage it offers. If you think it provides too much coverage, I recommend mixing it with a bit of Danessa Myricks Prism FX Hydrating Lotion, which will give it even more glow. If you need more coverage, try mixing it with your favorite concealer.

This is my favorite foundation, by far, that Urban Decay has put out in years. I love the coverage, the glow, and the fact that I actually have a shade I can wear. Now if UD would just make a stick foundation I’d be set! I would have purchased this foundation if I had not been sent it in PR.

I have noticed that the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation can be a little streaky when applied. I’m not sure if it’s the brush I’m using, which is my beloved Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush, or what. If I see streaks I use a damp beauty blender to deal with them.

I’ve used the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation with both the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer and the Danessa Myricks Prism FX Hydrating Lotion. When I pair it with the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer, I get flawless and long lasting wear. When I pair it with the Danessa Myricks Prism FX Hydrating Lotion I get extra glow, but at the end of the day I do see some wear through my t-zone. Setting my t-zone with Fenty Lavender Pro Filt’r Powder or Cozzette C1 Essential Powder helps to minimize this wear.

I don’t know you watch my Instagram Stories, but if you do, I share makeup and fashion of the day on my stories during the week. I also share funny memes, inspirational quotes, and random thoughts there. I’ve gotten compliments from other brands, such as Milk Makeup, on how gorgeous and dewy my skin looked while wearing this foundation from my IG stories.

What do you think of my Danessa Myricks Soulmate Look? What sort of look do you put together in 15 to 20 minutes? What do you focus on?
