Moonlight
a soft silvery glow
I’m not sure where Cover FX gets silver from with Moonlight. It looks like a light peachy beige on my pale skin. For reference I wear Cover FX shade N0. This is too dark to be a highlight shade on me. If you’re a pale skinned gal like me, I’d skip this. Moonlight probably works for shades N20 and higher.
Sunlight
a soft gold glow
Sunlight looks like a light gold, very similar to Moonlight. It’s probably great for light to medium skintones.
Candlelight
a shimmering golden bronze
Candlelight is the most beautiful color of the three. It looks like a golden bronze. I think it would be lovely as an eyeshadow on me. It’s probably a great highlight shade for deeper skintones.
Highlighter is supposed to create the illusion of brightness around the face. It helps to give you a lit-from-within look. So for a highlighter to really work for you, it needs to be lighter than your skintone. If it’s darker than your skintone, it’s going to look weird. It’s not going to highlight your face or add dimension.
Overall, I think if you’re not pale like me, you’ll be able to find a match in one of these shades. I wish there was a true white based powder highlighter in this formula from Cover FX. For a pale girl friendly Cover FX highlighter, try Celestial in the click stick or custom enhancer drops.
