Favorite Tech Beauty Gadgets
Happy Makeup Wars Monday! For this Makeup Wars I’m sharing my favorite tech beauty gadgets, both for personal use and blogging. I’ve also included some that I’m crushing on too!
Favorite Tech Beauty Gadgets
Bed Head Deep Waver
I love this! I use this to add waves to my hair. I think it’s perfect for styling my shoulder length hair. See my review.
Foreo Luna
The Foreo Luna is a multi-purpose beauty tool. I use it for gently cleaning my sensitive skin. It also has a massage mode, which I use on my face. If I have a sinus headache, this can help to alleviate the headache. Too bad it doesn’t work on migraines! The charge on this thing lasts forever too. You get more than 450 uses from a single charge! This is gentle enough for daily use on my sensitive skin. See my review.
Michael Todd Soniclear
I will have my review up for this very soon! I was so happy to be sent this new brush to try out (because my Clarisonic Mia died). What makes this brush unique is that it has antimicrobial protection. It also uses a patent-pending sonic-wave powered technology to micro-massage away dirt. It’s gentle enough that I can use it twice a week on my face for a deep cleaning. It comes with two brush heads – one for the face and one for the body, making it multi-purpose.
ghd Purple Peacock Flat Iron
I still have and use my awesome ghd Purple Peacock Flat Iron. 2+ years and it still works beautifully. I normally use it to straighten my fringe or to straighten cowlicks in my hair. The most important feature that this flat iron has is the auto shut off, which I find critical. See my review.
Simple Human 5x and 10x Magnifying Mirrors
I have the 10x Magnifying Mirror and the light on it is beautiful. I really want the 5x Magnifying Mirror because it’s larger and much better for makeup application (since you can see your whole face rather than just one section). The 10x magnification mirror is good for precise work like shaving the face for men or plucking eyebrows for women. The LED lights on both mirrors are perfect for letting you see true to color makeup. See my review of the 10x Mirror.
Emjoi Micro Pedi Callus Remover
This is great for smoothing out the rough spots on my feet. I’m so ticklish but this is able to get the job done without too much discomfort. See my review.
Voloom Hair Tool
I’m lusting after a Voloom, which is a volumizing iron with heat protective technology that is supposed to add volume to every layer of hair. See Jen from My Beauty Bunny’s review.
Tria Age-Defying Laser
This laser is supposed to use a type of light to stimulate natural collagen production. It’s supposed to be about as painful as my IPL treatments for rosacea. I definitely am crushing on this! See my friend Teri’s awesome results at Beautiful Makeup Search.
And because I’m asked frequently I’ve included my current favorite cameras, since they’re beauty blogger tech gadgets.
Canon Rebel t3i DSLR
This is my DSLR and I’ve had it for a few years now. I have 4 lenses for it. It’s best feature is a flip around screen which makes it easy to take self portraits. I need to get a wireless remote for it though. There are newer versions of this camera but I don’t feel the need to upgrade because it suits my needs perfectly.
Canon VIXIA HF R500 Digital Camcorder
I picked this up and I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it because I had a lot of trouble figuring out the best way to set up my lights with it for video. I finally think I have the kinks worked out and I love it. It was so great to be able to take it with me to the Makeup Show Orlando and interview people with it. It’s so easy to use for video tutorials or just plain videos, too, because the flip around screen is large enough for me to see even from a distance.

Great round up! I love my simple human mirror!
SO many things I need to add to my shopping list!
Great picks! I’m loving my Foreo LUNA, too 🙂
Great choices! I like that callous remover.
I love my Luna – it really is a nifty little product.
I want to try the Foreo Luna. Seems like such a great design.
I love ghd! I’ve been wanting to buy that simple human for the longest time!!!
Someone else loves the Emjoi! I didn’t include it, but I’ve been using an Emjoi epilator for years. It lasts as long as waxing, but without all the mess. Because I spill hot wax everywhere when it use it.
I just got the simple human and I’m getting used to it. I wish they had a mirror without magnification though
I really love your hair with the bedhead… I totally forgot about the Simplehuman. I bought that thing a month ago and need to set it up still!!!
Great choices. I love my Clarisonic!
I want literally ALL of these. I love my Clarisonic, but that SonicClear sounds AMAZING! And love love love the picture of you- simply stunning!!!!
Thanks so much Jamie! The Soniclear is nice! The brush is easier to change on it, plus the anti-microbial protection is cool
I’m loving my Soniclear–better than Clarisonic! You always have the best hair thingiembobs!

I´ve heard so many great things about Voloom.
Jen’s results really sold me!
I love the idea of the Foreo, especially since you don’t need to buy brushes for it!
Yes, I definitely think it has an advantage over the Clarisonic Mia for that reason!
Great choices. you’ll need your hair a little longer for the Voloom but I know it will be wonderful on you since you’re so good with styling.
Good to know!
I really love this photo of you. LOVE IT!
