Youngblood Contour Palette Review Swatches Looks

Today I wanted to bring you my Youngblood Contour Palette Review. I’ve also got swatches and looks with this palette too. Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics says that highlighting and contouring can add very flattring and sophisticatd looks to your makeup routine. This shade contains 3 shades for highlighting, paired with three complimentary shades for contouring. It’s supposed to be perfect for all skintones.

Below I swatched the Youngblood Contour Palette on my bare skin using my finger tip for the swatches. I numbered them with a liquid eyeliner pen so that you could easily see which shades were the highlighting and which were the contouring.

I really love the packaging for this palette. The outside feels leatherlike. It’s solid and sturdy without being heavy. I like that it’s pure black with Youngblood embossed on the top. It doesn’t have a mirror, and I’m fine with that. It’s easy to toss into your makeup bag and go because of its compact size.

The highlighters appear to be 1 cool, 2 yellow, and 3 warm. Contour 4 appears neutral-warm, while 5 and 6 appear warm toned. The pigmentation is nice and buildable, almost goof proof, so you’re not likely to overdo it. It’s easy to apply and blend for a natural looking contour. The highlighting shades are buildable as well, so you’re not likely to overdo it. Because the shades are so buildable I think they’re super easy to blend.

In the photos above, I’m wearing 4 Light contour shade. It actually works really well for my skintone (I was concerned it would be too warm). Because I’m so pale, matte highlighting shades are not flattering on  me, so I need iridescent shimmer. Make sure you check out my pale girl’s guide to highlighting and contouring.

I think this particular contour palette works well for pale, light and medium skintones. I don’t think the 6 Dark contour will work on my friends with deeper skintones. The highlighting shades are definitely light enough to be flattering on a wide variety of skintones if you like a matte highlighter. I believe all shades in this palette are eye safe, so they could double as eyeshadow in a pinch too. Matte shades like this are very hooded eye friendly.

What do you think of the Youngblood Contour Palette?

  1. I’ve seen this brand at my hairdresser before! The palette looks lovely, so maybe next time I stop in for a trim I’ll ask for a demo! Contouring just scares me for some reason… I blame Pinterest fails haha!

  2. I do like it-I see what you mean about the shimmer/matte thing-shimmer highlight is super flattering on you-I can do a teeny bit of shimmer when I’m wearing full coverage foundation, otherwise since my skin can go combo to oily, the shimmer can overhighlight the pores/redness, so I like that these are matte highlights. Thanks for the review. @paintedladies /Sheila just did a nice review of the eye quads too for the color/pantone for this year, I had been interested in the brand but never tried it, thanks!!!!

  3. I love the look of the packaging. I am very pale and am always on the hunt for some good contour colors

  4. Love your headband in your first 2 pics; and love your pic where you’re wearing the Bunny Paige heart – cool inner cat eye! The packaging on this set looks nice, but I like some cooler colors for contour (like I’m some expert or something – not!). I’m wishing for the Kat Von D myself; lots of glowing YT reviews for the Lorac set from some of the “more mature” ladies I watch, but I much prefer KVD as a brand. xo

  5. I never heard of this brand before. I love seeing new brands and I like that there cruelty free.

  6. The shades are lighter and warmer than I expected. They don’t look too orange or yellow on you, though, so that’s nice.
