Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette
Today I’m sharing the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette with you. Urban Decay sent me these palettes. Shapeshifter comes in two different shades. Light Medium Shift is ideal for .5 through 7.0. Medium Dark Shift is ideal for 6.0 – 12.0.
In case you missed it, I did a Facebook Live video in the PhyrraNyx group demoing the Light Medium Shift palette on me and swatching both palettes. Watch here.
This is currently available at Sephora.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palettes
The packaging is fantastic. I love the design. It’s sturdy but lightweight enough for travel. It has two completely separate compartments – one for the cream products and one for the powder. This is my preference. There’s a mirror for each side. You get 4 powders and 5 creams.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Brush
The Naked Skin Shapeshifter brush has a very thin fan brush on one end and a rounded contour on the other. It’s not a shape I normally use for contouring but it does do a good job of blending out both cream and powder contour products. I tested it out with this palette. The highlighter side is a little thin for my taste, but works well with a powder highlight.

Dark Contour can easily work as a matte bronzer on my pale skin. It also works nicely as a crease shade. It blends out effortlessly.
Medium Contour works as a contour shade on my pale skin if I use a light hand. It will also work as an eyeshadow.
Light Contour works as a highlight shade on my face. It can also be used as a base eyeshadow shade.
Pearl Highlighter is a bit too dark to work as a highlighter on my pale skin. It makes a beautiful lid eyeshadow.

Dark Contour works as a contour shade on my skintone if I use a very light hand. It blends out easily.
Peach Color Corrector can be used to counter dark circles under the eyes.
Light Contour works as a concealer shade on my pale skin.
Pink Color Corrector / Highlighter can work for dark circles under the eyes.
Pearl Highlighter is a gorgeous, subtle highlighter shade on my pale skin. If you are a fan of a natural looking highlighter, this is it.
In the Light Medium palette, I can make all of the shades work on my skintone if I use some of them as eyeshadows. In particular, for pale skin like mine, I think all the shades work for their intended purpose except the powder highlighter. It’s just too dark on me as a highlight. As I mentioned above, this shade makes a great lid color for a quick neutral look.

Both Dark Contour and Medium Contour are super dark on me. They could also work as eyeshadows.
Light Contour looks like a highlighting powder. It reminds me of Ben Nye Banana Powder.
Pearl Highlighter is a gorgeous blush on my pale skin. It’s light a softer version of Urban Decay Score – a pinky peach with gold shift.

Dark Contour is a very deep contouring shade.
Light Contour looks like a concealer color to me.
Color Corrector looks like an orange concealer, good for dark circles under the eyes.
Color Corrector / Highlighter is yellow toned and looks like it would be good for concealing.
Pearl Highlighter is a soft peachy copper with a gold shift. It’s very pretty.
I can’t really speak to how well the Medium Dark palette works on other skintones.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette is a hybrid palette that is supposed to let you easily highlight, contour, and color correct. It’s also supposed to be great for travel with its compact size. I think it does exactly what Urban Decay claims.
If you are pale like me and open to using 2 of the shades as eyeshadows, this might be a great palette for you. If you’re paler than I am, you may want to swatch this in store to see if it will work for you. I think it will work for most light to light-medium skintones.

What do you think of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette? Which shade are you?
Thanks you.
I think I’ll be passing on this, as I wouldn’t get enough use out of the creams. I do really like that they separated them from the powders, though.
