Urban Decay Blackened Thrash Tutorial

Urban Decay Eletric Thrash Cobra Tutorial

Today I’ve got a reader request for you with the Electric Palette. This is my Urban Decay Blackened Thrash tutorial. Yes I love Thrash! Such a great chartreuse shade. I also used UD Cobra, which is one of the first colors I purchased (see my build your own palette) from UD when they released their new eyeshadow formula in 2012.

PR + purchased by me.

I swear that this Goss Makeup Artist tip with the setting powder on top of the primer, before foundation, leaves me with better looking skin! You can apply any primer you like. I prefer to apply either the Cover FX Anti-Aging Primer or the Nyx Angel Veil Brightening primer. Heck, you could go crazy and mix them together if you like! Or add your favorite illuminizer into the primer.

For the powder step, you can use Cover FX Matte Setting Powder in Light, Urban Decay Naked Skin Loose Powder in Naked Light, NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder, Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Powder or Silk Naturals Blur Tinted Powder. Then you only need a little bit of your chosen foundation. If you have dry skin like I do, after you apply the foundation I would only powder under the eyes by pressing gently with a domed brush to your under eye area. If you have oily skin Goss recommends applying only a tiny bit of powder.

  1. This look is amazing! Trash is one of my favorite shades from the palette (I love chartreuse eyeshadow!) and this look is a great way to wear it. It looks stunning on you! Gorgeous look as always! 😀

  2. I love this look on you and I love to watch your tutorials bc you make it look so easy. I see little things you do that I have to try, like how you added the black/gray color on the outer eye almost vertically, it makes sense but I’ve never tried it like that.

  3. Love this look – Thrash is amazing!! I’m definitely trying the Goss foundation tip – have you tried with with the Silk Naturals HD cream foundation yet?

  4. I keep telling myself I don’t need this palette because I have the Hello Kitty Tokyo Pop palette, but that green looks amazing on you! Nice tutorial!

    1. This palette blows any Hello Kitty palette out of the water. The packaging on HK is super adorable but the color payoff is disappointing.
