Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner Review

Recently Urban Decay released their 24/7 Waterproof liquid liners and I saw Siren. I immediately fell in love, as I tend to do with all things teal, so I picked it up.

The Website Claims:
This eyeliner lets you draw waterproof liquid lines so sharp they could cut glass. Urban Decay’s slender brush lays down long-lasting matte, slick, and shimmery shades sure to satisfy your color lust. Available in a veritable rainbow of long-lasting, highly-pigmented color options, these shades can be applied in thick or thin strokes with an ultra-fine brush tip that’s short and easy enough to control. The slim pens are conveniently color-matched to each shade.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Styrene/Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Silica, BIS-PEG/PPG-16/16 PEG-16/16 Dimethicone, Sorbitol, Laureth-2 Benzoate, Sodium Laureth-12 Sulfate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sodium Cocoyl Apple Amino Acids, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Polyacrylate, Tin Oxide, Coconut Acid, Hexylene Glycol, Trisodium Edta, Sodium Chloride, Disodium Edta, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Methylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Urban Decay Siren with Too Faced Perfect Peacock and Make Up For Ever 4 Diamond Lagoon Green.

Shade Description:
Siren – teal with blue shift

Price:
$18 for .25 oz.

Does it live up to its claims?
Sort of. It’s definitely long-wearing and budge-proof. The shade I picked up, Siren, is gorgeous. However, I hate the brush. I don’t find it as easy to use as the MUFE Aqua Liner’s brush tip. That said, this color is amazingly gorgeous, so hopefully I’ll get used to the brush.

Siren is on the upper lash line.

Would I purchase again?
Probably. I really love this color, but I am not fond of the brush. If there was another unique color that I couldn’t get in the MUFE Aqua Liner style, I’d definitely go for it.

What do you think of the new UD 24/7 Liquid liners?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

    1. I don’t have Minx to compare it to. I think Flipside is a tad greener. Flipside is an amazing pencil though, because it always seems to adjust to be more blue or more green depending upon the teal I wear it with.

  1. I actually am kicking myself in the butt for not grabbing one of these with my last Sephora order. Siren, in particular. I *love* brushes and have decided the felt-tip liners, while good for those who don’t use liquid liner often, are not the best for me. Brushes are flexible, thin, and just easier to use. But I use liquid liner every day so….everyone is a little different.

Thanks for the review! Siren is too pretty, and I appreciate having a couple of other colors in the same shot for reference. 🙂

    1. I’m glad the other colors helped in reference 🙂 They’re all three gorgeous to me.

    1. I’ll try to do that soon. I do like both brands, but I like the MUFE applicator better.

  2. Oh wow, I love this color. I use a flat eyeliner brush with powder usually but I might have to check this out. With a little bit of practice, I think I could get the hang of it.

  3. I’m another brush preferring girlie. Also, because of some ingredients in MUFE’s formula I can’t use it, but I’ve been eyeing these online for awhile. I’ll probably pick some up soon!

      1. I picked up three of these now….siren, retrograde and perversion. They and the palette were a gift from my hubby for our anniversary. We have been married 16 years this Friday! I’ll let you know what I think but so far I love them! If you haven’t considered retrograde, I would definitely recommend it knowing your love of purples too….

  4. I actually prefer the brush applicator to the pen style like the MUFE ones, so I was thrilled to see it. I guess it’s all what you’re used to – I “learned” how to apply liquid liner with a brush style wand way back when, and never got used to the felt tip pen type.

But I agree, the liner itself is really nice, and definitely stays on if you get tossed in a pool.

  5. I love the color, but I was worried about the brushes, too. I like the MUFE/MAC/Illamsqua type applicators a lot and I was hoping Urban Decay’s would be just as good. Oh well, there are plenty of other options!

  6. That shade is stunning! But I just can’t draw a straight line with liquid eyeliners that have a brush applicator so I think I’ll pass *sighs*

    1. The TF Perfect Peacock is really close to it, and pencils can be much easier to work with 🙂

    2. I’m pretty hopeless when it comes to the standard brush-tip applicator, so I prefer to use one of my own brushes to apply liquid liner. Works like a charm!

  7. Holy moly, that color is AMAZING! I am awful at liquid liners, so I don’t think that applicator would help any!

    1. That color is so intense and awesome 🙂 I’m glad that the Peacock pencil matches.

  8. The colour is absolutely stunning! Shame about the brush…I’ve got the most unsteady hand in the world, so I’ve never really invested in liquid eyeliners…might have to break that rule ha

    1. I think I can only do ok with the brush because I’ve got a LOT of practice with bent eyeliner brushes and gel eyeliner. It’s definitely got a learning curve for me.
