TheBalm ShadyLady Vol. 2 – Swatches & Review

A while back I picked up TheBalm’s ShadyLady volume 2 from Sephora. Since I loved TheBalm’s Stainiac in Beauty Queen (which I’ve never reviewed and will be doing soon, shame on me!), I wanted to try their eye shadows. A palette was the perfect way to be introduced to these colors.

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes! The colors are all gorgeous. This palette has a good mix of shades, and they’ve all got lovely shimmer, without being too glittery or over the top. They apply and blend easily, and they’re nicely pigmented. Because they’re shimmery, but not glittery, there’s no fall out to deal with, which I’m really appreciating these days. I think these colors would work equally well for work or play. Additionally, I think the palette is a great value because it breaks down to about $4.38 per eye shadow, and the eye shadows are huge for a palette.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I’ll definitely purchase more of TheBalm’s eye shadows, probably another palette, since it’s such a great deal.

Have you tried TheBalm before? If so, what’s your favorite product?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. Love Love Love theBalm!!!!
I have their ShadyLady palettes 1 and 2. You cant find 1 anymore and its my favorite. I wasnt so crazy about 3 which is why I dont own it. I also own some of their overshadows, which are loose shimmer powders you put over your eyeshadow.
They have really beautiful blushes as well.
I dont know why they dont have more of a cult following because their stuff is gorgeous and well priced, in MHO.

    1. I need to check out their blushes and Overshadows then 🙂 Thank you for the recommendation!

  2. “Caught in the act Courtney” made me giggle. 🙂 This has been on my Sephora wishlist for the longest time, but I think it may be time to finally pull the trigger and buy it!

  3. I have the tinted moisturizer from TheBalm, called BalmShelter, unfortunately it’s very limited in shade selection and slightly yellow-greenish in undertone. Good for people who are olive complected, but not me… I bought it online though before I knew about swatches! 🙂
