Real Techniques Makeup Brushes

Today I’m sharing my Real Techniques Makeup Brushes Hits & Misses & How I use them. I’ve only ever reviewed the Real Techniques PowderBleu brushes, even though I’ve been buying Real Techniques since they launched. I tell you what I love and hate about them. I filmed this before I bought a bunch of the new Brush Crush brushes, which are the purple glitter brushes and I LOVE those!

All brushes purchased by me except the PowderBleu.

  1. I have my fair share of Real Techniques brushes. One of them is the All Over Powder brush that’s so bulky to store. I wish I waited for their Brush Crush collection to come out which is sooo beautiful to look at and much easier to store (it has the tapered end) because the powder brush is just calling my name. Also, I saw a lot of RT brushes from the Bold Metals collection being sold at several TJMAXX stores in CT at the fraction of the cost. I own the eyeshadow crease and blush brush from that collection and can’t recommend them enough.

  2. I’m a big fan of Real Techniques brushes. I’ve been eyeing the blend and blur brushes since they launched, but I was worried they might not be user friendly. Thanks for the recommendations!I’ll go ahead and scoop them up on my next Ulta trip.

  3. I loved the expert face brush for foundation and used mine for almost 2 years, daily use, and washing it once a week. I never had any issues with it until it neared the 2 year mark and it started shedding LIKE CRAZY. I figured it was just at the end of it’s life and bought a new one. But the new one shed like crazy from the start. Not sure if I just got a bad batch, or if they’ve changed the way they make them, but it’s super frustrating! I haven’t found another dense foundation brush like it that I liked as much.
Have you or anyone else here had a similar problem with the brushes?
