Anyway, in the video I discuss that I’ve finally had some progress with working out. I’m down from 35.8 % to 34 % (the trainer had stated 36%, the paperwork he gave me actually said 35.8%). I’ve only seen that progress since starting with the new trainer. The old trainer didn’t get us anywhere.

Pure Protein Powder

Between the 3 of us, we’re going through 1 container of the Pure Protein a week! I’ve been making a protein shake for breakfast for Dave and I. Sometimes I have one for lunch, too. Ray and I always have one after we get back from the gym.

For two people I do 4 scoops of protein powder, 1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk and 1 to 1.5 cups of frozen strawberries or frozen blueberries or a mixture of both.

I’ll have to share some of the hair inspiration that I’ve seen with you in another post, but I’m definitely looking at longer styles and lusting.

I started a new series of books by Diana Rowland. While she’s got a series of books called My Life as a White Trash Zombie for all you zombie lovers out there, I’m reading her demon series. I love my kindle fire <3

Game of Thrones is back! Yay! I’m happy about that. Sadly I never get to watch the episodes when they air, so they’re on my DVR and I’ll watch them when Ray and Dave both have time to see them. I’m rooting for Daenerys Targaryen all the way.

Phaedra’s Thundershirt seems to be working. My darling standard poodle has been doing better during the infrequent storms that we’ve had.

Nest Thermostat 2nd Generation

I think my Nest Thermostat (2nd generation) is really neat. I love that it learns what temperature I want it to be.  I bought it from amazon for 2 reasons:

  1. Amazon has an excellent return policy if I have a problem, unlike many other companies and websites out there
  2. I have Amazon Prime membership and shipping, so it got here fast.

And speaking of Amazon, Amazon has a sub-site Amazon Smile, where you can choose a charity and a portion of each purchase you make through Amazon Smile goes to that charity. I, of course, chose the Florida Poodle Rescue! I wish I had known about this site years ago! I would have started using it sooner. I’m making every purchase that I can through Amazon Smile from now on. There’s even a Firefox extension to add a button to your browser and I think there’s one for Chrome too.

Ellagee Dolphins of the Caribbean

I love my Ellagee Dolphins of the Caribbean polish. It’s part of the Dolphins, What? Collection. It was $9.50 for cuteness in a bottle.

My Wayne Goss the Eye Set brushes arrived. I’m so glad I bought them. I love the Goss brushes.

 

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks

I’m so happy that the Too Faced Melted Candy lipstick that I purchased during the Sephora VIB sale arrived. Melted Ruby and Melted Fuchsia are press samples. This means my review will be up this week! It doesn’t look like Melted Candy is currently available on Sephora’s site, though it was during the sale.

Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette

I’m very happy to finally have my Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow (cool toned) palette that I also ordered during the sale (you can see everything else I hauled here). The Monarch (warm toned) palette looks beautiful, but I didn’t want to buy it since I wasn’t sure I would use the colors.

  3. I saw Goss brush set on Beautylish, but it was wayyy outside of my price range. Maybe one day I’ll take the plunge, but I’m just not ready yet I guess 🙂

      1. Good point, but problem was that I didn’t need all of the types of brushes in the set, so I would actually end paying extra for the brushes I didn’t really need, and I don’t think there was an option to buy them individually.

          1. You’re right! When I got the email I was under the impression they only had sets, but now I’m seeing the individual brushes there, too. I think I even have some credit points sitting around, so I’ll definitely grab that foundation brush (#10) <3

    1. My first trainer was useless and we didn’t know. I hired a trainer because I had no clue :/ so it didn’t make me happy that he didn’t have a clue either.

  5. Those Melted lippies look so pretty. Can´t wait to read the review. I love dolphins (I wear tiny dolphin earrings everyday 😛 ) and Ellagee Dolphins of the Caribbean polish looks very pretty.

  9. Cheers to your fitness progress. Remember, it’s not about numbers but the quality of your lifestyle choices. Things don’t happen overnight. It took years for me to get back to tiptop shape. You won’t believe it but I was really heavy in my mid 20s. Then I started to pay attention to what I’m eating (w/o deprivation), become more active (exercise 3x a wk). My weight has been stable now for the last 7-8 yrs. My goal is to be fit and fab when I turn 40. And oh, I also want to try those melt lippies!

  10. it’s ok, don’t feel bad. men naturally lose fat faster than women. i can’t give up bread; when i did, i got so cranky i fought with my boyfriend all the time. i finally decided i preferred a happier relationship to a slimmer body. i do like meal replacements sometimes with amazing grass’ amazing meal in chocolate tho.

  12. Is melted candy more red or pink? it looks a lot like the Elllis Faas L404 I just reviewed

    1. To me, Melted Candy is a hot pink, but it leans red not blue. My review will be up tomorrow with it. I feel like it looked red in the video above. I do think it looks similar to Elllis Faas L404, maybe a bit more red / vibrant?

    1. This is the best tasting protein powder that I’ve found. I haven’t heard of golden pea. though I have tried a few vegan protein powders, most recently Garden of Life RAW, and they’ve been ok. I haven’t found anything that tastes better than this one yet.

  18. I was seriously SO pissed for you when your trainer turned out to be a total dud. Broke my heart a bit because I can only imagine your frustration. That Kat von D palette is to die for!!!

It was so frustrating because here I went to the doctor, he said your cholesterol is high for the first time ever, you need to make a change, I took my doctor seriously and we signed up at the gym and got a personal trainer. We paid quite a bit of money for the personal trainer and he sucked. I’m glad the new one is better but it makes me feel like that first month with the first trainer was a total waste.

    1. Definitely check out Smile.Amazon, it’s the same site, it just lets you donate to a charity of your choice. I’m thrilled that my purchases go towards the Florida Poodle Rescue 🙂

  23. I got my order with Too Faced Melted Peony and I love it. It feels great on my lips and the color is perfect for my taste. I normally don’t rush into using things but I photographed it early this morning so I could wear it today.

  29. What a fun post with all kinds of interesting info from you! I love the look of the TF Melteds and in particular I’d love the pink/peachy one but I’m afraid they’ll be drying like the OCC Lip Tars. Are they not dry?? Love the shades you have.

      1. That’s where I fell in love with Peony, the other day on your site. But I thought it would be drying like the OCC. Thanks so much for letting me know it isn’t! Next time I get a cash infusion, I will definitely picking that one up!

        1. Allison, I’m only on my first day with Peony but I love it so far. Not drying on me, it’s more stainlike. I wish they had more light shades.

Hearing from you & Phyrra, I feel much better that I won’t be buying something that I can’t wear. I adore the Peony shade. Now, I wish I had asked you guys last week before I used my Sephora coupon lol!

  31. GAME OF THRONES!!!! Daenerys is a bad ass, but I love Tyrion too! Have you read the books? They are definitely worth getting sucked into!

    Thanks for the update on the Thundershirt, too. I have been considering getting one for my chihuahua to help with his separation anxiety. He loves being held tight, so I feel like it might help. Or at least be kind of cute!

    1. I’ve read only the first 4 or 5 books – can’t remember where I stopped. I’ll have to pick them up again to try and finish them.

      I like Tyrion too. He’s got a lot of depth as a character.
