Perfect Palette Tag

Perfect Palette Tag

I was asked to do the Perfect Palette tag on Youtube!  I’ve got a confession to make. I love eyeshadow palettes. Blush palettes are ok, lip palettes are meh, but eyeshadow palettes are awesome. I love collecting them! You can see more of my makeup palettes in my makeup collection video Part 1 and Part 2.

My Answers to the Perfect Palette Tag Questions
1. Best Packaging

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette – $59
Urban Decay’s Vice 2 palette lovely! I love the watercolor purple effect. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, UD, please make more products with this gorgeous packaging! See my review and video.

2. Best Color Payoff
Sugarpill Quads
Sugarpill Quads – $34 each
I love my Cold Heart, Sweet Heart and Heart Breaker palettes. They’re a great value for the price and you get a ton of product. If you love bright eyeshadows you need to check out these palettes. See my Heart Breaker review.

3. Most Versatile

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette – $55
Check out my review and swatches.

4. Best for Traveling

Best Palettes for Travel

Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case – $44 Urban Decay Shattered Face Case – $44 – Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette – $46
Aside from not liking Provocateur, I love the rest of the colors in the face cases, including the Exclusive lip shade! See my UD review and video. You knew that the Too Faced palette would be on this list! See my review and video.

5. Biggest Regret

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lavish Palette SetAnastasia Beverly Hills Lavish Set $38 ($212 value)
While this set is undoubtedly a great value (I calculate $147.08 value), I find myself rarely reaching for it as the colors are all quite warm. I didn’t like the eyebrow pencil or the makeup brush. I did like the tweezers and liner. See my review.

6. Best Color Names
Kat Von D Spellbinding Eyeshadow Book – $55
You know I love this book! 24 eyeshadows, great value for the price. And yes, definitely some of the best names! See my review and video. I even swatch the colors mixed together / layered, as it recommends.

7. Least Used
tarte palettes
Tarte Romancing the Glow – $29 Tarte Coral Crush Palette – $38 Tarte Aqualillies for Tarte Palette – $38
I feel bad that I haven’t even swatched, reviewed or used the Romancing the Glow.
I love the Coral Crush and Aqualillies palettes and I’ve reached for them quite often because of their lovely blushes. They get love, but poor Romancing the Glow hasn’t really got any love. See my Coral Crush review. See my Aqualillies review.

8. Most Used
Urban Decay Naked Basics – $27
To me, this is the most useful of the Naked palettes  because the mattes are so buttery and pigmented. I use Walk of Shame in almost every makeup look that I do. See my review.

9. Most Loved

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

The UD 15th Anniversary palette, again. Yes, I love this palette 😉 My favorites Junkshow, Omen, Evidence, Deep end, Ace, Chase, Vanilla, Half Truth and Flow. Even Mia and Deeper are nice!

10. Desert Island

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

The UD 15th Anniversary palette. Yes, it’s pretty awesome. Normally I hate listing a palette you can’t purchase, but I couldn’t leave this one out because it’s gotten lots of love.

More packaging like this, please!

I’m sure many of you are excited because Urban Decay will be releasing the Naked 3 Palette soon (see my post here for more info). I’m hoping that Urban Decay will release some super bright eyeshadow palettes, maybe a mix of mattes and satins. It would be fantastic in the gorgeous Vice 2 palette packaging!

  1. I would totally take the Romancing the Glow palette off your hands if you ever decided to sell it. I loved that one so much and it was stolen out of my hospital room, of all places.

Answer what lippee is that you’re wearing? It’s fabulous!

  2. This post inspired me to buy the UD Shattered Face Case because I realized I had nothing similarly convenient for travel (also because I love palettes, so why not!)

    1. I don’t own Naked 1 or 2, I don’t think they’d be flattering on me. Most browns go muddy without a LOT of work on my own. I see them as 2 palettes that would be disastrous for me, though they’re beautiful on others.

  3. Xsparkage? I think posted swatches today of the Naked 3 palette. It looked pretty, but I don’t remember it having very many mattes 🙁

    1. Yes, she and temptalia and Kandee have all posted pictures. It looks like pinks / coppers to me, but not much in the way of mattes.

I was talking about hoping that they release an entirely separate palette of bright colors 😉

  4. UD Basics and the Tarte Aqualillies get so much use over here. Just so easy to grab and apply!! I buy most of the UD palettes because I’m a sucker for packaging lol it’s just luck that I happen to love them!!

  5. First, you look amazing in your video (love the blue hair). I don’t own any of those palettes. I’ve heard great things about Sugar Pill, but haven’t tried their stuff

  6. I love 15th Anniversary palette but I use it way too little. I have been using Naked (1) almost everyday tho since I’m just lazy and want natural makeup for work.
