I really love this primer and I feel like it does a good job of brightening my complexion and blurring imperfections. I’ve been wearing it almost non stop for the past few months. If you’re looking for a brightening primer that will blur minor imperfections, this one is definitely worth checking out.

What’s your favorite face primer right now?

Pros

  • Cruelty free
  • Brightens complexion
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • This may make deeper skintones look ashy instead of brightened.

  1. I bought this hoping it would be a cheaper version of Hourglass’s mineral one. It is not. It’s not as fluid, and not as mattifying imho

    1. I don’t think they’re really a comparable product. The Hourglass Mineral Veil is definitely an awesome primer. This one to me is just a brightening one.

  2. WOW!!! I really see the difference there on the left side of your face! I bet there would be days you could get away with wearing just that, it looks so good!

  3. This always seems to catch my eye at Ulta. I wonder how similar it is to the Hourglass Veil. They seem to have really similar ingredients.

  4. It’s so affordable ! I don’t know why I haven’t tried more of NYX

    1. I feel like it does help to mask pores but not hide them completely, but the right foundation combination can help to hide them. It doesn’t clog my pores. I’ve been using this for 2 months and it hasn’t broken me out

    1. Yeah I’m guessing because of the white color it would make deeper tones ashy. I’d definitely try it in person rather than buy it blindly unless you could return it. I could be wrong,

  5. I haven’t seen this yet in my local d/s. I should be on the lookout!

  6. You’re right, it does brighten your left side a little bit, just enough to make the foundation look perfect.

  7. I have heard some good things about this and considered checking it out… I will put it on my list. You look fabulous darling 😉

  8. I’ve noticed you using this in your videos lately, and was waiting for your review. I figured you liked it! lol. I like a touch of luminosity, but I have to be careful with too much shimmer because it really amplifies my oily skin sheen.

  9. Your skin looks FLAWLESS! Love it! Sadly Cyclopentasiloxane and my skin do not play well together. I’m glad it works for you tho!

  10. Ooo! I may need to pick this one up and try it. I just ran out of my old faithful and am about to embark on a couple of samples until I pick up some more.

  11. Oooooh this sounds great,. And that price point is AWESOME. Not only does it brighten it also looked like it helped a bit with redness. You have seriously flawless ski girl, I am totally jealous!!!!

  12. Hmm, interesting and especially at that price point. Love your demo with and without! I’m using Hourglass Mineral Veil lately and I like it. I got a sample of a Manna Shimmer Lotion that acts as an illuminating primer on me. I like your idea about mixing primers, and I’ll try mixing the two I have.

  13. I would like to know how you’d rate this next to the Cover FX primer you recommended. Cost aside, I’m most interested in quality of product. Also, I WISH my skin looked like yours without makeup!

    1. These are different types of primer. This is supposed to brighten the skin, which it does, but it still helps to prolong the wear time of foundation. The Cover FX primers, which are all great, all have different qualities. One is for anti-aging, one is SPF 30, one is mattifying for oily skin. This is why sometimes I mix primers together, so that I get the benefits of both.

      1. Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. I tend to mix primers too, to get the desired effect. My face and neck has a variety of textures to conform to. I guess that’s what combination skin is all about!

  14. I wonder how this compares to Benefits “That Gal” – tried a sample a few months ago and thought it was just ok.

  15. This one really looks promising. I would really like to find more NYX products to love so I’ll add this primer to the list to try. Right now I’m rotating between three depending on the day: Sonia Kashuk Vitamin Serum Primer, NARS Pro-Prime Oil Free, and Becca Resurfacing.
