Happy Friday! I know you’re going to be excited to see this Melt Dark Matter tutorial. I’m not normally one for neutral looks but I think this is one of my best tutorials to date.

  1. Awesome, can’t wait to see it! Yes, that’s so nice of you! I will have it published in the next few days so I will be sure to send it to you! 🙂 I’m just trying to iron out the technical stuff!!! Did you do a regular html blog or a different one?

  2. I LOVE this look!! Unseen really makes your eyes pop. It made me chuckle when you said just said ‘granite’ when doing your brows – I grew up in Granite City, Il and when I hear ‘granite’, I always think of home.

  3. I love this look on you. I love Melted Velvet on you, and also the lip combo that isn’t one of the new TF Melteds!

  4. BTW that Fixated is a great color. I’m trying to decide if it’s like Lost in LA, from Notoriously Morbid’s Slayer collection.

      1. So after closer observation, Lost in LA is a wonderful matte blue-gray (the same degree of darkness as Fixated), but it doesn’t have the teal undertones. On the other hand, you have to make a real effort with Lost in LA to NOT make it opaque on application — it’s incredibly dense and pigmented over a primer.

          1. I recommend at least a sample! It’s perfect for me because it so closely matches the color of my eyes that it looks like it was made for me, though (application issues aside) Fixated looks perfect for you for the same reason.

  5. So … I’ve never watched your videos before and I have a few questions (I understand you have a life, so if you don’t have time for this, I completely get it). 1. It looked like after the primer and powdered lid that you didn’t have any foundation (and I saw some fall-out from the bluish color), but then at some point it was clear that you had put on foundation and cleaned everything up … so at what point did you do that? 2. What kind of light do you use to put makeup on by? 3. When you use shadows that require a stickier base (like glitter glue), do you prime, powder, then put on the sticky base? I’m going to go look at some more of your videos to see if I can find some examples of what I’m trying to figure out; thank you for doing these videos.

    1. I always have time for questions! I cleaned up the fall out with makeup remover. You can use coconut oil to do that too. Usually I show all the steps in a tutorial, but I had received some emails asking me to skip ‘all the boring stuff’, so I edited the foundation out. I use daylight bulbs. I use this mirror that my husband got me for Christmas (http://www.shopstyle.com/action/loadRetailerProductPage?id=437411205&pid=uid1121-1041761-60 ) to put on my makeup. When I need a stickier base I would prime, powder, then use Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy or Darling Girl Glitter Glue or Urban Decay Bondage. I’ve only started doing the powder thing recently after a recommendation from Reddit.

      1. Thanks so much for your response! I tried the powder thing after watching your video because I’ve always had creasing issues — even with primer — and that one little extra step appears to be making a big difference in my shadow’s staying power.

  6. Loving this look on you too! The Life’s Entropy in Supernova is gorgeous on you! And your skin is really flawless I have to tell you! I think the COVER FX Illuminating is gorgeous on you. And I really love the UD Concealer on your skin too-I agree, much better than their original. I think despite you being worried about the Cocoa Powder Foundation in fair being a tad dark(I was concerned about the same for myself) it actually looks really pretty! I wanted to ask you-your undereye looks so flawless! You are using the NARS Light Reflecting to set under your eyes correct? And I also wanted to know if you were using the Makeup Geek brush for the powder foundation. Thanks again for the great look and inspiration!

    1. Thank you <3 I'm picky about my foundation – because it's too dark, it's not something I'm likely to reach for since I have other foundations (like Cover FX N10) – to reach for. I do use NARS Light Reflecting to lightly set under the eyes. And Yes I'm using the MUG buffing brush 🙂

      1. Yes-I totally get what you’re saying, you can make it work-but it’s so much better to reach for the perfect shade. I am SO SO glad you told me about Cover FX, it’s been “life changing” for my skin! And I wear the same shade, N10 in the Pressed Mineral. I’ve had the exact same problem with foundations being too dark-the lightest shades even! The lightest shades were often way too yellow for me-you may have experienced that too! I love the Cover FX shade system for that reason! The N family works SO well for me!

      2. I really want to try that MUG buffing brush with the Cover FX Pressed Mineral! I’ve been using their sponge so far as I haven’t gotten the right brush yet, but I think that getting MUG brush will make it EVEN better! Are you going to the IMATS?

  7. suuch a beautiful look! and I love your piercings! just found your blog on bloglovin. I’m new to this so it would be awesome if you checked my blog out! 🙂 thanks!!

    1. Hi Aimee? I’d love to check out your blog! Can you send the link? I’m also new to blogging. I have cruelty free beauty blog that I’ve been working on that will be published soon:) I love to support other bloggers.
