Makeup Wars Best Summer Complexion Enhancers

It’s time for another Makeup Wars! This time we’re discussing Best Summer Foundations and Complexion Enhancers. This means we’re bringing you our best in tinted moisturizers, BB Creams and CC Creams. I love tinted moisturizers and CC Creams for Summer. They make you look polished and feel like you’re wearing nothing at all!

Ole Henriksen Perfect Truth™ CC Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – $36 for 1 oz.
I really love CC Creams because they’re lightweight yet they give you a glow. This one packs an added punch with its Vitamin C and SPF 30.
The Brand Says:
This product instantly perfects the following: illuminates with light-reflecting pigments; diffuses flaws with sheer illuminating coverage; nourishes with sodium hyaluronate and ceramides; and protects with Broad Spectrum SPF 30. It corrects the following over time; brightens and fades dark spots with five sources of vitamin C; reduces redness and calms with green tea extract; minimizes the appearance of lines with tripeptide-5; and prevents free radical damage with ferulic acid, a powerful antioxidant. It’s only a touch darker than I prefer for my coloring but I love how it makes my face feel. I love Vitamin C!

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – $42 for 1.9 oz
I have this in both Finland (lightest with a neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones) and Terre Neuve (lightest with neutral pink undertone). It gives me the perfect amount of coverage to look polished if I want to wear nothing else. It does a good job moisturizing my skin without leaving me oily. I prefer Finland.
The Brand Says:
Natural polysaccharides from Moorea island in French Polynesia hydrate, condition, and help encourage natural cell renewal. Mineral-rich seawater uniquely revitalizes and adds key minerals back into the skin. Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 helps improve skin’s overall condition. Soft and smooth to the touch, skin looks natural and glowing. This dermatologist-tested product is free of oil, synthetic fragrances and is non-comedogenic.

Paula’s Choice Barely There Matte Sheer Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 – $14.95 for 1 0z.
I love this. It’s matte finish is perfect. It keeps my t-zone dry, rather than oily. It evens skin tone while delivering anti-aging ingredients and protects skin with a titanium dioxide and zinc oxide sunscreen. Really awesome product.
The Brand Says:
Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 30 is an unbelievably light and silky tinted moisturizer that blends effortlessly to even out your complexion while allowing your natural skin tone to show through. You’ll get a smooth, satin-matte finish with sheer coverage and a hint of color to enliven skin. All this, plus broad-spectrum sun protection via pure titanium dioxide and zinc oxide make it the perfect beginning to your makeup application! This is recommended for all skin types and may be used by those with rosacea.

Supergoop! SPF 35 Daily Correct CC Cream – $32 for 1.6 fl. oz.
If this comes in a shade that matches your skintone, snap it up! They’re working on a shade to match my skintone, so hopefully that will be available soon. Otherwise this is an awesome product. It feels good on the skin and I barely needed to blot my t-zone with it.
The Brand Says:
A silky formula that covers imperfections in an easy one-step product blended with light-diffusing mica which instantly softens the look of lines, wrinkles and pores – leaving behind a fresh and flawless face. Supergoop! CC Cream combines the functionality of a primer/foundation with the anti-aging benefits of skin serums to protect, correct and smooth uneven skin. Available in self-adjusting shades. The Supergoop! skincare product line delivers three distinct benefits to the skin: superior broad-spectrum sun protection, amazing anti-aging benefits and super antioxidants to help fight free-radical, wrinkle-forming damage. Supergoop! takes seriously its commitment to formulating with healthy ingredients and natural preservative systems: no parabens, fragrances, petrochemicals or oxybenzone to provide an environment- and skin-compatible choice for UV protection.

  1. I used tinted moisturizer about 100 years ago, but now I’m old and blotchy. LOL Mainly because of tiny blood vessels close to the surface, I have pink/purple areas under my eyes, so wear foundation to even that out. How correct-y are these in general? And the Supergoop – what are self-adjusting shades? Brings to mind that mood lipstick – green in the tube, fuchsia on the lips. I’d love to get by with fewer things to apply in the morning!

  2. Interestingly enough, I posted a similar topic on my blog today. I *cannot* use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream in the summer as it literally disintegrates off my oily, humidity ridden skin 🙁 So its med-full coverage foundation all year round for me!

  3. I plan on getting a sample of the Paula’s Choice but I have the feeling it won’t provide enough coverage.  Envious of you ladies who can wear light formulas/tinted moisturizers!

  4. I just got a sample of the Supergoop and can’t wait to try it. I used Ole Henrickson as my choice too. I’m really enjoying the finish I get from it. Too many people are pushing me towards the Nars – not healthy for my budget!

  5. That Supergoop and Ole Henriksen sound so amazing!  I have to pick them up since I already know I love the NARS

  6. I really need to sample the Supergoop and Ole Henriksen CC creams! I have been using the newish serum/oil from Ole Henriksen and love it!

  7. I didn’t realize Supergoop! had a CC cream! Hands down that NARS is my favorite TM–so awesome!
