Makeup Geek Liquid Gold Look

Makeup Geek Liquid Gold Look

I wanted to share my Makeup Geek Liquid Gold look with you. I wore this out to an event on Saturday. Unfortunately  I was in a super rush when I took the photos without using my tripod and it shows in my photos. They do my look no justice. I actually think it was really fabulous.

I was having a great skin day thanks to Mirvaso, but I added a bit of a subtle glow by mixing Laura Geller Porcelain with MAC Lightscapade. I keep looking for a cruelty free dupe for Lightscapade but so far, no luck. I’m hoping for an indie version of it soon! As soon as I find one, I promise to share.

Surprisingly, I feel like Makeup Geek Hipster works really well for a subtle crease, letting more of the focus be on Liquid Gold.

How would you wear Liquid Gold?

  1. Gorgeous! Looking at the pigment online, I thought it would be more of a burnished or antique gold. That is 24K. Love it.

  2. HELP! I love Marlena and finally indulged in ordering a few shadows as “basics” – I’ve heard so many blogger/ You-Tubers rave about their quality…and yet, even with my beloved TFSI primer, these shadows crease badly for me 🙁 I’m gutted. I want to buy more, since I was pretty cautious for my first order, but certainly not if they’re all going to crease like this. do you have any recommendations? I’ve tried TFSI, I’ve tried MAC painterly, and now I’ve dug out the ol’ Urban decay primer potion, but 4 hours into applying them, the shadows are now creasing. I even tried layering primers (TFSI and MAC) but didn’t help. Could I be doing something wrong?? I never had similar creasing problems with the NYX shadows I’ve been using exclusively (with a little Sonia Kashuk product here and there) until the end of the day/ night when I’m ready to remove and notice a thin line of shadow. Would love to hear if you have any suggestions!!!

    1. Hi Angela! I haven’t experienced that issue with Makeup Geek products but here are my suggestions. 1. Wait 15 minutes after you apply your moisturizer with SPF before you apply makeup. 2. blot off any excess moisture / oil from your eye area. 3. apply eyeshadow primer 4. apply shadow.

Let me know if changing it up a bit helps.

        1. It worked!! A little creasing at the outer corner by the end of the day, but by far much, much better. Thanks again!!

          1. Yay I’m so happy to hear it! For a while my skin was uber dry and I would put very rich moisturizer under my eyes, which would then cause my eyeshadow to crease no matter what! So I was thinking it might be something similar with too much moisturizer close to yours
