Each set of shades can be paired together to create perfectly layered looks reminiscent of old school shade-shifters. The shadows glide on effortlessly to blend and layer seamlessly. Each of the rich, creamy colors is formulated with a high-pigment load for incredible payoff with just one swipe. Experience incredibly long-lasting crease-free color with shades won’t budge or flake—this is the same great formula that Kat Von D is known for. Together, they’re the perfect mix of neutral shades and bold pops of color in a beautiful box featuring Kat’s original artwork. This palette is the perfect gift for any makeup lover or yourself.

  • Paraben free
  • For a more natural look, apply Galore all over lid and up to browbone. Lightly blend Hexagram into crease for a soft look.
  • For a bolder style apply Precious on lids, then lightly blend Dark Throne on top. Continue to blend Precious on top and up into crease until blended softly for a smoky look.

The book comes with tips for layering the shadows, which I think is a great idea for those who are new to makeup, or even those who are well versed in makeup who may not think to layer colors.

I do love that you’re getting 24 full size eyeshadows in this palette. Speaking of the palette, I love that it’s not bulky and it’s easy to store. It’s got a nice, minimalistic design.

I really love this palette. There is one thing I would change about it though. I would print the names of the colors beneath each shade. I know I’m not the first to mention this but I HATE the plastic film with the name. It’s unnecessary and I’d rather see the names by the colors so I have a hope at remembering them.

  1. Stupid Autocorrect may have just replaced Junkshow as my favorite eyeshadow name.
The palette looks really cool, but I hardly ever go for any of my non-UD eyeshadow (and I’ve got two KvD palettes I rarely use as it is). If Sephora does a F&F around the time I’m Christmas shopping, I might spring for it for my sister, but I already bought her an UD face case for her birthday, so I might try to get slightly more creative in gift choices, haha.

  2. Long time reader, first time posting…..I really want this palette, especially after your review and awesome swatches. I’ve heard and read so many great things about the colors/quality of this palette. I have a couple of her eye shadow singles and blushes from her updated line which I’ve been very happy with….along with the older products of her’s I’ve managed to keep in my lineup over the years. Your birdcage look is breathtaking and totally sold me!!

  3. I love that all the shades are paired. It makes everything so much easier for the creative-challenged people like myself, but if you like to mix things up you still have enough colours to go wild. Very cool!

  4. I must have this!! I’ve made my husband agree that when he’s in Copenhagen on business next month he has to go to Sephora and pick this up as it’s sort of our nearest Sephora… seeing as he never goes to any other country that has one! Can’t wait! Looking forward to more of your looks with this one!

  5. That is a great palette and I like the shade names. Very creative. 🙂

  6. Absolutely fabulous, you and the palette I mean! I’ve been debating whether to get this or not. On one hand I want because it’s a steal and I love KVD, on the other hand I don’t because I have a lot of KVD palettes already. But after seeing this, you just convinced me. Enabler! Hahaha!

  7. This is a gorgeous palette. I agree, the names should have been printed by each shadow rather than on a stupid plastic film. That is a bad design decision. It wouldn’t stop me from buying the palette, tho, if I were inclined to pick it up. 🙂

  8. I was waiting on your review before I picked this up! Gonna hit up Sephora after school 🙂
