Packaging
The primer comes in a matte black packaging that reminds me a bit of the NARS packaging (general line, not their specific primer). It’s got a doe foot applicator that makes it easy to apply. I don’t like the packaging as well as a tube, because I worry about product being stuck inside, but I do like that its overall shape is straight so that you can get as much of the product out as possible.

Once I used the primer, I was blown away. The only other primer I’ve had work this well for my body chemistry has been the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. This is the best drugstore eyeshadow primer that I’ve tried to date. As you know, I’ve tried MANY different eyeshadow primers. I’m excited to find another great, affordable, cruelty-free eyeshadow primer that works so well for me.

I can wear it and not worry about it creasing on me at all, just like TFSI. Colors are vibrant and easy to blend. I’m thoroughly impressed. For me, it works the same way TFSI works with my body chemistry. I don’t experience creasing or fading, even after all day wear. This is what I want and need in an eyeshadow primer.

Would I purchase?
Yes! While there are no Rite Aids near me, I love that I can purchase directly from Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics website and get free shipping if I spend $20 or more (Hello JulieG nail polish!). If you’re looking for an affordable, cruelty-free, eyeshadow primer that works wonderfully, this is it!

  1. I picked it up on a recent trip to the States, where I spotted Jessie’s Girl products for the first time. You seemed to like it so much, and after this review, I’m excited to give it a go! I also got TFSI on your recommendation, but had to give it away after discovering I’m allergic to bismuth oxychloride. I adore the TFSI texture so I’m stoked the JG primer is the same. Thanks for your help, Phyrra!

  2. TFSI has let me down recently, my current tube has separated so badly it’s no longer keeping my eyeshadow from creasing. I bought the Lorac primer yesterday and if it fails me too I will definitely check this one out.
