Please note, my arms are darker than my face, neck, and chest. My naked face appears darker than my neck and chest because of the redness from rosacea.

Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation Review
Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation is a medium to full coverage vegan and cruelty free foundation. I prefer to thin it out to make it more light to medium coverage by mixing it with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. On its own, the Nordic Veil foundation has a satin matte finish. When mixed with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer it’s more of a radiant matte finish. I still set it with the Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten in Porcelain, which gives me a bit of a glow. It looks very skinlike.
Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation in Jorunn is a perfect match for my neck and chest. It covers up the pinky-red overtones on my face from my rosacea with ease. When you look at me wearing the foundation it’s seamless from my face to my neck to my chest, which I love! This is such a rarity for me with foundations.
The Nordic Veil Foundation formula doesn’t settle into fine lines or pores on my skin. It doesn’t emphasize dry patches, either. It’s very comfortable for me to wear on my dry sensitive skin with rosacea. If you’re someone who is drier than I am, you might like the Norrsken formula better. If you want more full coverage, you might like the Huda Beauty FauxFilter Foundation in Milkshake better. But if you’re looking for something just right, like me, you’ll love the Nordic Veil.
The one downside to the Nordic Veil foundation is the shade range. Idun Minerals is a Swedish company and they aren’t known for having the most diverse of shade ranges. They only have 9 shades.
I do love the price, not gonna lie. It’s only $28 for 1 oz. Huda Beauty FauxFilter is $40 for 1.18 oz, Cover FX Total Cover Cream is $42 for .35 oz, Kat Von D Lock-It is $35 for 1 oz, Urban Decay Naked Skin is $40 for 1 oz and Hourglass Vanish Stick is $46 for .25 oz. So compared to everything else, the Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation feels like a steal for the price!
The Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation has a faint clean scent that I find hard to describe. It might have the barest hint of apples, but whatever it is, it’s not added fragrance and the scent dissipates quickly. So if you hate stinky foundation, you’ll love this. It doesn’t have a lingering perfume like the Huda Beauty FauxFilter Foundation.

What do you think of the Idun Minerals Nordic Veil Foundation?
The color match is absolutely perfect for you, Courtney! So much so that it looks as though it was custom made for you! I also really love the look that you created!
The match is perfect for you. I wear Idun Minerals in the shade one up from you and I love Norskkinn (spelling?) but that doesn’t mean I don’t want this one too! I really don’t notice a scent.
I know you love this foundation. I wish it was carried in a store so I could try a sample. But from your swatches, it looks like The Ordinary 1NS might suit me though I’m still in love with Hourglass Foundation with HA and my old fave MUFE Ultra HD
This shade looks like a perfect match for you and it looks beautiful on. I like the price. I’m going to see if they have a shade that is a good match for me. Plus I like the scent you describe it as having. 🙂
I am torn about whether I try this or Huda Beauty. I lean towards the later because I have drier skin in fall/winter but oily in spring/summer. Great review and it looks great on you.
