Fyrinnae 50s Retro Collection Review and Swatches
Fyrinnae recently released a 50s Retro Collection. I picked up several of the shades to review.
I swatched all except for Hollywood Sorcery on Gosh Primer.
Row 1 – Housework Pearls – Mauve-o-matic – Monster Movie
Row 2 – It Beautifies! – Console Television – Hollywood Sorcery
It Beautifies! – Softly gleaming bronze, the tone prefered by 4 out of 5 movie stars! No sparkle, but a powerful yet graceful shimmer to give you that fresh “just woke up” look we all crave. Be the envy of all your friends.
Love love love this shade! It’s so gorgeous! To me it’s a bronze with gold overtones.
Console Television – Sandy taupe, close to Envy Me and Evocation, but lacking highlights, and made with a more transparent base hue to enable easier blending into other shades or to sheer out the color. Makes a greal wash to pair with a bold red lip. Subdued shimmer finish: more gleam than satin, but not sparkly.
This really reminds me of an old black and white tv, almost greenish around the edges of the taupe. Definitely sandy brown grey.
Row 1 – Housework Pearls – Mauve-o-matic – Monster Movie
Row 2 – It Beautifies! – Console Television – Hollywood Sorcery
Monster Movie – Soft, nearly matte light sage green with a subtle touch of copper shimmer. The perfect shade to be caught dead in when the 20 Foot Spacemen from the Swamps of Mars come to take you away. Not lip-safe.
The copper shimmer was very shy for me, I couldn’t get it to come out but I’m going to try again.
Mauve-O-Matic – Multi-faceted mauve with a varying sheen. It’s not overly shimmery, but more dimensional than a satin finish. Not as pink as it appears here.
Very pretty pinky mauve.
Row 1 – Housework Pearls – Mauve-o-matic – Monster Movie
Row 2 – It Beautifies! – Console Television – Hollywood Sorcery
Housework Pearls – Soft, satiny peach with a gentle gleam, but no shimmer.
Like the redder parts of a peach skin, but definitely not red. Very much peach. I really like.
Hollywood Sorcery – A completely transparent soft bronze glow, not sparkle, that doubles as a light-diffusing powder. This powder contains no titanium dioxide or other whiteners, so can work on any skintone. May add a slight hue to pale skin. Use as an accent or all over face.
This adds a beautiful gleam anywhere you apply it.

I was hoping someone would swatch these, thanks!
Thanks for the swatches, I’ve been eyeing this collection! It beautifies is really beautiful. How does Console Television compare to Witchy Woodland Creatures from their Samhain collection?
I have them all arriving tomorrow including the two lippies! I <3 Fyr and I <3 retro!
Great swatches!
TikiBarbie Thanks!
Hollywood Sorcery looks interesting! I’d love to see how it works on! I’m always looking for a nice highlighter that’s flattering. 🙂
EmmyJean It’s so pretty!
Monster Movie is so pretty. 🙂
KatieFrank The copper shimmer was really shy for me.
Sigh… I should have waited for this review before I put in my order – because now I want the ones I didn’t order! But, sooooo glad I bought It Beautifies! Love them and It Beautifies will probably be my favourite of the bunch. Can’t wait to see the looks you do with these!
trumpette It Beautifies is my favorite from this set 🙂
Gorgeous shades. My favorites from your swatches are Mauve -o-matic, Console Television, and It Beautifies. I’d love to see a look using those colors!
ChristieBrooks I’ll be doing a look with It Beautifies 🙂
Wooo I’m super glad I got It Beautifies! now
Mai at Portrait of Mai Yay me too!
The shades are very pigmented and nice but honestly I do not like the colours, not to my personal liking! 🙂
SmashinBeauty They’re definitely more work safe colors.
gorgeous shades!!!
cinseven13 Which are your favorite?
I love It Beautifies! too, so pretty. I thought I was going to love Console Television, but it’s too dark for me. Thank you for the swatches! I am now plotting my next Fyrinnae order 🙂
Emi at Project Swatch You’re welcome!
