Coconut Vanilla Sugar Scrub
Sometimes you just want to make a fresh sugar scrub. I wanted to share my simple and easy DIY Coconut Vanilla Sugar Scrub recipe with you. This will last for a month or a two in an air tight jar.
Coconut Vanilla Sugar Scrub
Start by measuring out 1/2 cup of extra virgin coconut oil. If you hate coconut oil, go for extra virgin olive oil. The coconut oil I have is soft but sort of solid at room temperature but it melts in your hands. I love this. If you find the coconut oil is too hard, just heat it in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds.
Then measure out 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar. You can always add more sugar if you feel you need more. You can use any sugar you like but I love dark brown sugar.
Put both the dark brown sugar and the coconut oil into a mixing bowl.
Next you can add a tsp of Vitamin E and half a tsp of vanilla if you like. Or you can skip it. You can also add any other essential oil that you love. I’d stay away from any citrus since they can irritate the skin. The Vitamin E will add a moisture boost.
Now is the fun part! Mix it all together! I like to use a wisk to mix things together.
Put it into an airtight glass jar and you’re good to go!
You can store it in your bathroom for a relaxing at-home spay day (see what else I like for a home spa day) or weekly use.
The best thing about this brown sugar scrub is that you can use it on your body, hands or lips. I don’t use it on my face because my face is super sensitive, but it’s great everywhere else.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla oil
- 1 tsp Vitamin E oil (optional)
- airtight jar
This is really so quick and easy to make. You can make a batch in less than 5 minutes. It would be perfect for gifting too! Trust me, the dark brown sugar and vanilla smell so amazing!
