My Nyx Brows

I love my Nyx brows and brow products, but I’m definitely bored with the color scheme. I want to find a brow pencil and tinted brow gel that coordinate with my Manic Panic Pink Warrior hair. Sadly, I haven’t seen any cool products in rainbow colors for my eyebrow hair.

The last pink brow product I tried, while very affordable, definitely did not give me the results I expected. You can see a hint of the pink in the brow look today, despite me scrubbing it off with an oil cleanser. I’m searching for a shade that is a deeper fuchsia/magenta in a matte pencil, something in between Urban Decay Woodstock and Love Drug. Sadly both of those are shiny not matte.

Nyx Fierce Flirt Line Loud Longwear Lip Liner Pencil

Nyx Fierce Flirt Line Loud Longwear Lip Liner Pencil is a light mauve pink and my perfect MLBB hue. I don’t often do the barely there lips look but felt compelled to try it today with Fierce Flirt and Buxom Spellbound Plump Shot Lip Serum Lip Gloss for this Devinah Mystic Moonpie Makeup Inspiration. Dave does not like plumping lip glosses, as he didn’t like how the gloss made his lips feel after we kissed. I told him I’m not their biggest fan either, but I like the color.

What do you think of this barely there lip color?

Devinah Makeup Inspiration

Devinah Mystic Moonpie Makeup Inspiration by Cordelia Frost

I don’t often use all the same brand for a makeup look as I prefer to pick and choose my favorites from each brand to use. For my Devinah Mystic Moonpie Makeup Inspiration I stuck to all Devinah to see if I could do it and I’m pleased with my results. Suki is such a gorgeous, cool toned light mauve-plum matte, definitely gives me Melt She’s in Parties vibes. Patrina is a great dark purple plum with blue undertone matte, perfect for using a non-black shade to deepen the look. Mystic Moonpie is a beautiful shimmery sheer beige base with pink to violet to silver shimmer that’s quite eye opening. Fae is a subtle beige pink sheen.

Elf Lash ‘N Roll Curling & Lifting Mascara

I’ve finally been able to try the Elf Lash ‘N Roll Curling & Lifting Mascara and I can see why it is so popular! It does a great job of fanning out my lashes and the formula doesn’t seem prone to clumping, both are a big win to me! I know people like to criticize elf for making dupe products, but I appreciate that they’re creating cruelty-free versions of products that I wouldn’t otherwise try. Not every elf product is a winner for me, but I’m enjoying this and the power grip primer!

Polite Society Los Angeles Powder Blush Stick

Cordelia is wearing Polite Society Los Angeles Powder Blush Stick

I’m really enjoying the Polite Society Los Angeles Powder Blush Stick but I would not purchase from the brand again. I was dismayed to realize that the company is owned by Mr. Rich Lives Matter Jerrod Blandino. So while I love the cool-toned pink of Los Angeles, the nice formula, and the stick packaging, I won’t be purchasing another one. If you want a cool-toned pink blush, I recommend trying REM Beauty Hypernova Satin Matte Blush in Pinking Of U.

Health Update

My health took a turn for the worst last week, but I’m doing better this week. I’m grateful that I’m back to doing physical therapy and working on improving my stamina. I’ve spent the last twelve months enduring everything I needed to do to get through my surgeries and now I’m focused on recovery.

Final Thoughts

I don’t often do monochromatic soft pink looks, but I like how this one turned out, especially the lips and eyes. I recently read an article that only ‘old ladies’ wear eyeshadow and I had a good laugh at that. Perhaps I’m eyeshadow obsessed because of duochromes and multichromes, or I just love playing with color like in art class. I can’t see myself giving up eyeshadows, so I suppose that makes me old. Are you still into wearing eyeshadow? What about lipstick?

I hope you enjoyed my Devinah Mystic Moonpie Makeup Inspiration! What makeup would you like to see next?

    1. Thank you so much! You know I rarely do a MLBB lip, but this lip pencil and gloss combo are perfect for it. My MLBB lipstick is Urban Decay OG Backtalk. This sort of soft cool toned pink mauve is a perfect natural hue with my complexion. Not that I often do natural!

  1. I’d love a review on the Laura Geller Porcelain Baked Balance-n-Glow Foundation. I’m screwed since KVD Lock It powder was dc.. Some have said that the Balance-n-Glow Foundation in porcelain is still too dark &/or orange. However, seeing you used it gives me hope as I as fair as you but cool.

    1. Hi Lori! So happy to hear from you. I can give you a mini review of the Porcelain Baked Balance-n-Glow right now. I do not like it when worn all over as a foundation because it emphasizes too much texture on my skin. It almost gives me a tin man vibe when I use all over.

That said, here’s how I’ve been experimenting with applying it right now – only to the highlight sections / places of my face that I want lighter. I’m using the Balance-n-Brighten in Fair all over except for the center/high parts of my face. And I just picked up Balance-n-Brighten in Medium to use to contour / add dimension to my complexion. I’ve been struggling to find a good powder foundation too, which is why I decided to go back to Laura Geller for a while. Sad to realize that they have talc in them.
I’ve also been using the LA Girl Instant Finish Tinted Primer in Light recently with the Laura Geller baked mineral foundations It’s a primer that blurs and smooths the skin. Check it out here https://rstyle.me/+jR292bgqZEy1ARlVSQEhHQ

This primer works well on my fair complexion! Between the primer and the mineral foundation, I’m able to achieve the coverage I need except on my scar, which I use Monika Blunder’s foundation/concealer for that.

I want to find a baked mineral foundation in a shade that matches my skintone and one in a deeper hue for added dimension.

By the way, neither the Laura Geller Porcelain Balance-n-Brighten or Porcelain Balance-n-Glow pull orange on me. They do pull pink. That said, I recently tried Ethereal Rose, which pulled warm pink on me, And Down to Earth, which pulled orange brown on me. Both were huge disappointments.

I will film a wear test with the LA Girl Primer + Laura Geller foundations next week for you!
