Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Review

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Review

A while back I had the opportunity to try out Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50, thanks to iFabbo. I was hopeful that this moisturizer with SPF, which is supposed to contain great anti-aging ingredients, would work well with my skin.

PR sample.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Review

I love the way this product feels on my face. I like how quickly it absorbs into my skin. I don’t feel it leaves a white cast on me, BUT I also don’t care if a moisturizer with SPF leaves a white cast.

I really love that it’s chock full of anti-aging properties and that it’s SPF 50.

Now, on to the bad. Lamentably, this product breaks me out. I’ve tried it several times, and unfortunately it causes my rosacea to flare. I’m guessing it’s because of the strong fragrance irritating my skin. This scent really lingers.

This is not a sunscreen I can put on my eyes, like so many of my favorites, because it irritates my eyes and causes them to burn.

It’s on the pricey side as far as sunscreens go for me, as you’re getting 1.7 oz for $65. If you factor in that it’s also an anti-aging product, so you’re sort of getting a 2 in 1 product, it’s not as bad.

Regardless, it’s one I can’t recommend if you have sensitive skin like mine as it’s likely to break you out.

If you have oily skin that is not sensitive, this might be a good product for you. Since it’s not very moisturizing and dries to a very matte finish, I think it would work best for oily skin.

Sadly this is another miss from Dermalogica for me. See my previous review on the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster.

Have you tried any products from Dermalogica? Are there any you love?

Pros

  • Great for oily skin
  • High SPF of 50
  • Good anti-aging ingredients

Cons

  • Irritating for sensitive skin
  • Expensive
  • Bad fragrance that lingers
