2. PhyrraOh gosh, I hadn’t thought of grossness of carmine at all, I’d just been thinking of the cruelty aspect.  Thank you very much for clarifying, and for offering a viewpoint I hadn’t considered.
   Yay!  Do my horizons look big enough in this?  :p

3. Lubyanka In general I avoid carmine. I think it’s gross, to be honest (squished bugs). Please refer to my FAQ for my views on cruelty-free. I did notice that Darling Girl does state this color is not Vegan.

4. @Phyrra, oh wow these are GORgeous, I just bought what I promised myself was my LAST HAUL (those Maybelline colour tattoo 24hr eyeshadow gel thingys) FOR A LONG TIME I SWEAR FOR REALZEEZ THIS TIME HONEST, but oh golly SO TEMPTED.
   I note your explicit mention that Darling Girl is cruelty free, and I also note that Darling Girl’s Forbidden Flame in their matte collection includes carmine.http://www.darlinggirlcosmetics.com/item_644/Forbidden-Flame-Eye-Shadow.htm
   Do you have an opinion on carmine as it relates to cruelty freeness?  Is exploiting/killing insects for beauty purposes not considered cruel?  I’m honestly confused, help clarify this for me please?
   ps:  I got such a vivid image of your hand dressed up all twinkly in these colours and surrounded by attentive admirers at a party, like Scarlett O’Hara.  I’mma try dressing my hand up in swatches next party I go to, see what happens! (nobody I know is into beauty as far as I know, so this swatching thingy is likely to be new to them)
   Also, if I thought I had a hope I’d ask your hand out on a date, so pretty!  🙂

7. Brocade and Blue flame look all kinds of beautiful!
   I havent bought any Darling girl pigments but I think they are now on my list with Concrete minerals.

10. I was THRILLED to see this post; I LOVE Darling Girl! Out of these I have Brocade and Blue Flame and they are amazing! Have you tried any of the Spectral Shifts yet?

13. WOW! SO many of these are sooo amazing! I LOVE the duochrome finish!!! Definite favorites based on the swatches are brocade, basket case, fortune cookie, hot rocks, tead for two, dirty limerick and dark forest (that’s just about all of them! lol!).  Thanks for the swatches, Phyrra!!
