Colour Pop Metamorphosis and Rebound

Colour Pop Metamorphosis and Rebound Review Swatches

Today I wanted to share the Colour Pop Metamorphosis and Rebound sets with you. The Metamorphosis set was created by YouTube Beauty Guru CoffeeBreakWithDani. (I still hate that term guru). I bought this set because of the duochromes. I’m a sucker for duochromes. I bought Rebound because I was interested in Too Soon, Ex & Adios.

Colour Pop Metamorphosis and Rebound

Colour Pop is cruelty free and most products are vegan. They’re also made in the USA in California.

Where to Buy
Colour Pop

$20 each

I swatched all of the eyeshadows on my bare skin without using primer. I used my finger tip to apply each color. Yes, I’m experimenting with new ways to swatch.

One & Done
Soft butter cream ivory / Matte Finish
My Take
Light yellow-toned ivory matte. This is a basic light matte that can be used as a base shade or to blend out other colors or for a matte highlight.

Colour Pop Ex

Colour Pop Ex Swatch

Bright Coral Red / Matte Finish, Pressed Pigment *Not intended for use in the immediate eye area.
My Thoughts
A true coral red matte. This actually screams tropical and Summer to me.

Colour Pop Adios

Colour Pop Adios Swatch

Smokey taupe gray / Matte Finish
My Thoughts
To me it’s more of a cool-toned smoky brown matte, I only see hints of a gray/taupe. I’m disappointed because I thought this would have more grey tones to it, but it still might work for me. I typically find that greys and grey taupes flatter my eye color more than browns.

Colour Pop Too Soon

Too Soon
Golden peach with pink opal iridescent duo chrome finish / Metallic Finish
My Thoughts
This is a light soft peachy-gold base with pink, copper and gold iridescent sparks. I would wear this on the lid or perhaps as a pop of color at the inner corner. I love the pink, copper and gold iridescence. It’s my favorite of the set.

Colour Pop Bravery

True medium brown in a Matte finish
My Thoughts
To me this is a medium-deep warm chocolate brown matte. This is probably a staple color for most people. I thought it had excellent pigmentation and applied easily.

Colour Pop Strength

Soft peachy caramel in a Satin finish
My Thoughts
This is such a pretty soft light caramel with hints of peach. It looks like it has subtle golden shimmer. It’s a warm shade but I think it’s pretty flattering on my skintone and will bring out the blue in my eyes.

Colour Pop Hope Colour Pop Hope swatch Colour Pop Hope swatchColour Pop Hope swatch

Radiant opal with pink, violet, blue and silver duo chrome in a Sheer Opal finish
My Thoughts
This is a pink opal color with pink, violet, blue and silver shimmer. Not really a duochrome, but definitely gorgeous with lots of iridescence going on. Perfect for layering since it’s on the sheer side.

Colour Pop Kindness Colour Pop Kindess swatch Colour Pop Kindess swatchColour Pop Kindess swatch

Kindness (not vegan)
Warm red brown undertone with a gold, green and blue duo chrome in a Sheer Opal finish
My Thoughts
I light this light warm red brown. It does have gold green and blue sparks in it. I’m actually surprised by how much I love this color. I’ve got a lot of colors that have a deeper red-toned brown base, but they normally have either green, turquoise green, or turquoise blue iridescence. The fact that this one has a lighter brown base and it has gold, green and blue sparks in it makes it unique in my collection. It can be worn on its own or layered over another color.

Colour Pop Metamorphosis Set

Colour Pop Metamorphosis Swatches

I really like the Colour Pop matte formula and in general I find it easy to work with. However, I feel like the ‘duochrome’ shades really shine. I think the Metamorphosis set is a really cohesive, well thought out set of colors that are fun to play with. Between the two, I highly recommend the Metamorphosis set if you’re thinking of picking up a set from Colour Pop.

On a personal note, I saw my eye doctor for a checkup to see how my eyes are healing from PRK (it’s a 6 month healing process and I’m 3 months in) and they told me to back off a bit on eyeshadow, don’t line the waterline, and put drops in far more frequently. So I’m still going to be wearing eyeshadow, just not as often as I was. Right now my eyes have adjusted to me being farsighted, and I’m +2 and +3 in my eyes (really weird since I’ve never been this way before) and I’ve had some headaches. So I have to see where my eyes end up at the end of 6 months, and if I’m not happy with them, I’ll have to do another PRK surgery. This sucks because it’s about 3-4 weeks to heal enough to use a computer and 1 week of severe misery. Sooo, yeah that’s what I may be doing in September. Such a great thing to find out this week.

Because it’s my birthday and I love the Metamorphosis set so much, I bought one, plus a few other goodies to give away. Also included are Scandy Lip Pencil, Scandy Lippie Stix (bright cool-toned neon pink) and Monkey Lippie Stix (midtone bright bubblegum pink). You must enter via the rafflecopter widget below. Open to people with a USA / Canada mailing address. See Official rules. Ends June 30, 2015. Winner must respond to my email within 48 hours or another winner will be drawn.

palette. Those are hands down my favorites. <3 I also love
Strength – I love peachy shades like that! Always flattering and super
versatile! I am drowning in brown shades but I have to say…Bravery
looks like a really good one so…I shall not complain of more brown.
XD I really loved the layered / transformation swatches that

The Rebound Palette is KILLING ME
AHHHH!!!!!! I seriously want to cry over Ex – I want to wear it on my
eyes! <~~~just realized "cry over Ex" funniness. XD My heart
breaks when I read "not intended for the eye area" bc I can't risk it
with my super sensitive/easily angered skin. </3 Still a great set
    though! Too Soon is AMAZING.

IMAGINED AHHHHH!! Please excuse my caps – I am overly excited for the
duochrome-y sparkly delicious colorful goodness. XD

    Colour Pop

  • Happy Birthday! I am a new follower but so excited to find your channel thanks to Dani! I am a long-time loyal panda and am so impressed with this quad, even if I wasn’t a CBWD lover I would want this! Thanks for the opportunity! Kindess & Hope are my favs!

  • I’m surprised at the way Kindness swatched. It’s so different than in the pan. Happy birthday to a wonderful and generous woman.

  • Sorry that you’re not completely healed from your surgery. I hope you’ll be back to normal soon. I had been planning to buy some ColourPop shadows because I prefer cream shadows and their mattes look like they’d be great for me (and I love the look of the Kindness duo chrome too). But I blew my makeup budget today on a ticket to a concert tonight and a very cute summer top that I didn’t need, lol.

I like the Metamorphosis set. Gorgeous!

  • Happy Birthday!! I bought the Rebound set too, and love the variety of colors and finishes in it. I think I might need Metamorphosis, too 🙂

  • I have something with Corals lately ♥_♥ I’ve been curious about Colour Pop eyeshadows, everyone is raving about it, thanks for the chance 🙂

    Happy birthday!

  • These are really pretty, I don’t know why I have slacked off on buying Colour Pop for so long. You have 3 months, your eyes will be right where you want 🙂 Happy Birthday to us 🙂

  • Happy Birthday! Love the swatches.. and I passed over Rebound because they didn’t look to interesting. But I think you have changed my mind. Metamorphosis is so stunning!!! I just want all the colourpops! 🙂

  • Happy birthday! I origionally didn’t like the look of Rebound! but now that I’ve seen it swatched, I do.

  • Oh, and also – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope you feel better soon and can get back to rocking all the fantastical eye shadow your heart desires! 🙂

  • Thanks for this review! I had Metamorphosis in my cart and then opted to grab Kathleen’s quad instead (which should be here this weekend, wooo!!) But I really REALLY want Dani’s quad for that caramel peach matte shade – guhh! T’would be perfect as a transition shade! And there are so many possibilities for looks using Kindness – I am appreciative that she thought about making this as versatile a quad as possible. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to place another CP order, lol! 🙂

  • Happy birthday to us! Hope to win this giveaway! Glad I found you through coffeebreakwithdani. Great blog:)

  • Metamorphosis would be my favourite if Kindness was vegan AND they shipped to the UK. Sigh. Gosh, didn’t realise the PRK was a 6 month healing process! Poor you!! 3 months to go!

    • Yeah I don’t hurt at all now, but the eyes take that long to heal / adjust. I’ll have to see if I can find a vegan dupe!

  • This is so gorgeous and I’m always in love with duochromes, so this has a lot for me! 🙂
Sorry to hear that your eyes aren’t where you want them. Here’s hoping?

    • Yep, here’s hoping that discontinuing my allergy pills plus constantly putting drops helps them to shift. With 3 more months left of healing they could turn out the way i want.
