Makeup Wars Best Spring and Summer Blushes

Best Cruelty Free Spring and Summer Blushes

Happy Makeup Wars Monday! This time I’m sharing my picks for the Best Spring and Summer blushes from some of my favorite cruelty free beauty brands. It’s hard to narrow my lists down when it comes to eyeshadow, but I had no trouble narrowing down the list for favorite blushes. I’ve included some vegan options in my picks, too.

Makeup Wars Best Spring and Summer Blushes

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip Cheek Creamy Oil Swatches in Boundless Berry, Endless Guava, Everlasting Honey

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil – $18 for .5 oz
I purchased Endless Guava (vibrant poppy pink), Boundless Berry (rich cool wine), Always Cherry (vibrant cool red) and Everlasting Honey (rosy nude) during the Sephora VIB sale. This creamy, colorful product adds a pop of dewy, natural color to lips and cheeks. The tinted treatment starts as a cream and melts into an oil, promoting hydration and nourishment without a greasy finish. What I like about this product is that you can mix the colors together easily for a custom shade. It also melds into the skin nicely. You really only need a tiny bit of this stuff as a little seems to go a long way.

Josie Maran Pink Escape Cheek Gelee Blush

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee $22 for .18 oz
I purchased Coral Oasis (tangerine orange) and Pink Escape (cool toned pink). They’re supposed to last up to 14 hours. They’re a hybrid of a cream blush and gel stain. They do a great job of giving you a natural looking flush without it sitting on top of the skin. Vegan.

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush – $30 for .19 oz
Peach Beach (shimmering peach, rosy pink, shimmering light golden bronze), Candy Glow (rose pink shimmer, soft coral pink, peachy pink shimmer), and Something About Berry (shimmering mauve pink, golden peach, shimmering magenta pink) are gorgeous baked blushes. They’re versatile too, because you can use each color individually or swirl them together. See my review of Peach Beach and Something About Berry. See my review of Candy Glow. Vegan.

Illamasqua Thrust

Illamasqua Powder Blusher – $26 for .14 oz
I purchased Thrust (magenta) a while back. I love it! It’s a matte magenta pink blush and the cool tone really works well with my complexion. You need a light hand with this as a little goes a very long way.

NARS Matte Multiple – $39 for .26 oz
I have Anguilla (ginger pink) and Altai (rose bronze). These are matte, multipurpose makeup sticks that can be used on the cheeks or lips. Altai is great to contour with and Anguilla provides a flattering pink hue. See my review.

Wearing Shaker

Silk Naturals HD Cream Blush – $4.50
I adore Shaker (light pink) and think it looks very natural on my skintone. See my review. Vegan.

Wearing Mr. Pink

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Cream Blushes – $28 for .16 oz
I purchased Coral Cameo (peachy pink blush / bronze sparkle), and Mr. Pink (hot pink blush / pink sparkle) and love them both. The Tarina formula is a cream to powder that looks so good when worn. I wish she would release more shades in this formula! See my review of Coral Cameo.

tarte Airblush Maracuja Blush – $25 for .19 oz
I have been lusting after these blushes! The shades Shimmering Peach (warm rosy peach) and Shimmering Pink (cool rosy pink) look particularly fabulous. The formula is supposed to melt into your skin to give you a subtle, soft-focus finish.

What are your picks for the best spring and summer blushes? Let me know! And don’t forget to check out the rest of the blushes from the Makeup Wars Beauty Mavens.

  1. I think I wanna pick up the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil because this is awesome… I am only once again liking powdered blush and I still prefer creams and tints, but hadn’t seen this…

  2. I loved the Nars Matte Multiples, Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Cream Blushes and the Silk Naturals HD Cream Blush. I have got to go see your review on the Silk Naturals, $4.50 and it looks gorgeous on you!!

  3. my favorite blush & highlighter of the moment is the from the divergent cheek palette that came in the multi-piece collector’s edition. one sweep picks up the perfect amount of pigmentation for an every day look and blends out super easily. my favorite on you is also peach beach and i love your hair in the mr pink pic! i tried the coconut water cheek gelee during the sephora rouge event but decided it was too troublesome for my routine

  4. So much awesomeness. I think you’ve sold me on wanting to try the Josie Maran ones – especially that Honey one. The best pix, though, and now I want that Tarina blush, is the last one. Gorgeous look!

  5. Phyrra, that’s a really great post you did. As i told you before, i love seeing Peach Beach on you. Besides the obvious – the gorgeous packaging (they def know how to get your hearts) this color combi suits you so well.
A nice rosy peach is my kind of blush for spring & summer. Makes me look so fresh 🙂
Thanks for sharing this post with me.

  6. I’m slowly building my blush collection, so these lists are extremely helpful 🙂

  7. I want Thrust so much! I’m also really intrigued by your use of Altai for contouring.

  8. I bought the Too Faced Sweethearts blush in Something About Berry at Ulta a couple of weeks ago, and I was so pleasantly surprised! It was on sale for $15, and that was truly a steal for such a great product!

  9. I ordered the Josie Maran oil blush after seeing your last review. I also ordered another Josie Maran Cheek Gelee. But I forgot to order a Nars Matte Multiple when the sale was on. I’m with you on the Tarina Tarantino cream blush – I adore them. I write about them all the time!
