Best Cruelty Free Face Masks
When it comes to face masks, there are a lot of options out there. For this Makeup Wars I wanted to share my picks for the Best Cruelty Free Face Masks for the Fall and Winter months. I’m typically looking for a mask to add long-lasting moisture to my skin, as well as improve the overall clarity.
Pr + purchased by me.
Best Cruelty Free Face Masks
All masks are cruelty free. Some masks are vegan.
Pür Minerals Wine Exfoliating Mask – $29 for 2.2 oz.
Pür’s Wine Exfoliating Mask gently buffs away rough, dull skin with natural peach stones (seeds) as it fights signs of premature aging with red wine antioxidants from Bordeaux’s finest vineyards. Watch lines, dark spots and uneven skin fade from sight as Farm to Jar™ ingredients work to reveal a visibly more youthful glow.
- Vitisin: an antioxidant from the roots of wine-producing grapes shown to brighten the look of dark spots
- Resveratrox: an antioxidant with smoothing and firming benefits, taken from the skin, shoots and roots of the grape
- Lactic Acid: a natural alpha hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates the skin for a visibly renewed radiance
- Peach Stones (Seeds): natural exfoliating beads that manually buff away dead skin and debris
- Paraben free and gluten free.
This is a new to me mask that I just received and cannot wait to try. I have to wait until 7 days have passed from my last IPL treatment to use it (which was last Thursday). It’s a different kind of mask than I’m used to. You’re supposed to wet your face and then message the mask onto your skin gently. This helps to exfoliate your face. Then rinse with warm water. It recommends using the mask weekly. Because it contains an AHA you need to remember to wear sunscreen daily for a week after using it as it increases sun sensitivity. Since I always wear sunscreen, this isn’t an issue for me. I have opened the mask and smelled it. It smells delicious!
Silk Naturals Pumpkin Yogurt Mask – $7.50 for 4 tablespoons
Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A, C, and Zinc. It calms, smooths, and helps to gently exfoliate tired, dull skin. We’ve combined pure pumpkin with yogurt- another great calming and moisturizing ingredient, and a bit honey to help moisturize to make this fantastic mask. Use it when your skin looks like it needs a little pick-me-up. It’s great for just about any skin type!
- great for all skin types
Who doesn’t want a pumpkin mask for Fall? This is on my lust list! It’s supposed to be soothing and moisturizing, perfect for sensitive skin like mine.
Aubrey Organics Age-Defying Therapy AHA Mask – $14.47 for 3 oz
Refining mask improves skin texture and gently exfoliates for a softer, younger-looking complexion. The powerful antioxidant action of sea buckthorn oil is combined with our mild but effective fruit acid blend to brighten and smooth skin and restore a healthy glow.
- Sea Buckthorn Oil – powerful antioxidant
- AHA Fruit Acids and Rice Spheres – refine skin texture
- Organic Aloe Vera – hydrates and soothes
- Vegan
This is on my to-try list as the aloe vera and sea buckthorn oil are supposed to be great for brightening and moisturizing skin.
Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost Hydrating Treatment Cream – $26 for 2 oz.
Moisture Boost Hydrating Treatment Cream is a rich oasis of hydration for dry skin. It provides a protective barrier against the harsh effects of the environment with its unique combination of plant oils, antioxidants, emollients, cell-communicating ingredients and skin-identical ingredients. The lush, creamy texture glides on and leaves a moist, radiant finish without feeling greasy. Skin is smoothed, luxuriously soft, and fortified with what it needs to repair itself and become healthier. The result is smooth, comfortable, younger-looking skin!
- Fragrance free
- Colorant free
While not advertised as a mask, I use this for extra moisture when my skin has been dry and parched. It’s a luxurious and thick, creamy moisturizer.
NARS Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisturizer Gel – $58 for 1.8 oz.
A refreshing, aqua-rich gel-cream that hydrates, revitalizes and fortifies the skin. Enriched with Dynamic Aqua Technology to improve water retention, skin becomes supple and fine lines and wrinkles noticeably soften. Contains the NARS exclusive Light Reflecting Complex™ designed to restore skin’s youthful radiance and reflect light like a prism.
- Synthetic Fragrance Free, Paraben Free, Alcohol-Free, Oil-Free
I picked this up on Groupon a while ago and I’m almost out of it. I use it as a daytime mask to replenish moisture in my skin. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
Lush Oatifix – $6.95 for 2.1 oz.
Few things are more soothing than a big bowl of banana porridge, all sweet and squishy. Did you know the same is true for your skin? Sensitive, dry or irritated faces love Oatifix for its calming oats, softening mashed banana and ground almonds to slough away flaky skin. Keep in mind that dry skin doesn’t just occur in the winter! The sun can be equally harsh, as UV rays penetrate the dermis and heat can leave you feeling tight and dry. Use Oatifix year-round on sensitive, dry skin in need of nourishment to keep it flexible and soft.
- You can only purchase this in store, not online
- vegan
I’ve had several of my friends rave about this mask. It’s very affordable, great for sensitive skin, and it’s vegan.

The best Spas use the toning and enriching benefits offered by Rhassoul. High in Silica, Magnesium, Iron, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium content, this clay is a luxurious treatment for your skin.
