Today I’m sharing my 10 reasons to try indie beauty with you. I talk about how I fell down the indie rabbit hole, what makes a brand indie and why I think indie beauty is great. This video really means a lot to me, so I hope you enjoy it.

One reason I forgot to mention in the video (this would be the 11th reason to try indie beauty) is that I love to support businesses owned by women and many indie companies are owned by women.
What are your favorite indie beauty brands?
What brands do you recommend foundation from? My skim has recently gone dry and I can’t really find a good foundation that won’t make my face look like a mess.
I saw your videos on the Silk Naturals cream foundation and I think I may give it a try but I was interested in hearing what suggestions you have.
Thanks!
I don’t actually use the Silk Naturals Cream foundation anymore. It stopped sitting nicely on my face because of my rosacea.
As someone with dry skin, I am currently using Urban Decay One & Done mixed with 50% white, Cover FX Liquid Foundation in N0, and I’ve been experimenting with Lucy Minerals original powder foundation, which is a very creamy powder that is not drying.
Whoo! I was rooting for you the entire video. You really hit the nail and I couldn’t agree more. The cruelty-free status, the unusual colours and the ingredients are the biggest benefits of indies. And I love that it is so much more personal and you can support a person in their dreams 🙂 I’m also a huge fan of Nicolet Beauty on Etsy. Her matte lipsticks are amazing. Loved the video!
Thank you! I’ll check out Nicolet Beauty
Rainbow Honey! I love them. 🙂
I can’t believe I forgot to list them! Their ‘All Your Base’ base coat is my go-to base coat.
Same here. I love their base coats and the colors just stick like glue to my fingernails. I so very rarely have any disappointing wear and tear from their polishes. 🙂 I can’t brag enough about them!
Great video! Indie brands definitely need more love. Some of my favorites are ColourPop, Notoriously Morbid, Everyday Minerals (they have a dead-on dupe for my BareMinerals foundation that’s less expensive as well as some great blush shades for pale skin), Sweet Pea & Fay, bhCosmetics, Coastal Scents, and OCC. I don’t own much from them, but so far I’m impressed with Darling Girl, Espionage Cosmetics, Tater Rounds on Etsy, and Looxi Beauty. I believe they are all CF.
I’ve tried all of the ones you’ve mentioned 🙂 They’re all CF. I love the Looxi highlighters. Glad to hear you’re impressed with Darling Girl
The Looxi highlighters are to die for. You should try Voodoo, the green one. Amazing! I have you to blame for Darling Girl. I had to get your Ghoul School collection.
So glad you love Darling Girl!
Great info. I never know what indie was. i struggle finding foundation that matches me, ill try the two brands you mentioned here.
Meow Cosmetics, Silk Naturals and Dreamworld all offer a very wide shade range 🙂
Thanks for sharing these brands.
You’re welcome!

I do like Looxi! I have 2 gorgeous highlighters I purchased – Luna and Ever After.
